No, And I was referring to his mentality not his age, that should be pretty obvious, if you read what he had said to me.
He was merely being facetious. Greg is a very smart, funny, likeable young man from everything he's shown me, along with being easily the most knowledgable and well rounded boxing fanatic of his age group I've ever come across. It's amazing to think of what he'll know even a few years down the line if his passion for the sport continues to burn as it does now.
well he probably is, I don't know him so I could'nt say. But it was his statement I had a problem with more than anything, would you not be pissed off, if someone that you don't know said that to you .
Iran Barkley's greatest performance may well have come when Duran defeated him. Considering the fact that The Blade was a triple crown champion, this was a remarkable achievement by El Cholo, and Barkley's role in that match is sometimes overlooked. He absolutely did not take Duran lightly after flattening Hearns, but wanted to avenge the beating sustained by his late friend Davey Moore at the hands of his challenger. It's been said that SRL lost Montreal by fighting Duran's fight, while Moore was too inexperienced and thus over matched by Roberto. None of that applied to Barkley though, who was terrific in a losing effort. Jersey Joe Walcott in both Louis I & II and Marciano I qualifies if I interpret your question correctly, as does Billy Conn in Louis I. Failed ATG challengers, like Gavilan against Robby, or Basilio against Gavilan himself might be considered as examples.
Meldrick Taylor put in a career best performance when he lost to Julio Cesar Chavez in the best fight of the 1990's imo.
Sorry about that. I was just joking with you. I thought 'Jung Koo Chang your ass' would give it away as a joke. Sorry about that.
Anyway to answer the thread, how about Hilario Zapata when he lost to Chang the first time around. It is one of the best performances I have seen Zapata turn in, and although he got the decision, no one really thinks he deserves it.
Losing to an out of shape, past prime champion does not make you one of the 'best fighters who ever lost'. Winning the event my arse. Frank Bruno also won the event then, and he lasted longer. Frank Bruno > Vitali Klitschko.
Ok then, I accept your apology, I respect that. I'm sorry myself for getting the wrong meaning of your post,
