yeah I knew you were big on Marcel and I assumed you'd return to this thread which is why I was asking you. I'm gonna watch it later.
Hopkins vs. Calzaghe Byrd vs. Williamson Dirrell vs. Stevens Haye vs. Harrison John Ruiz All Fight of the Year material.:good
Chacon-Limon IV; that one is my definitive #1, then in no real order, it's.... Sanchez-Nelson Barrera-Morales I Marquez-Vasquez III Saad-Lopez II Saad-Johnson II Gomez-Pintor Gavilan-Turner Gaspar Ortega-Benny Paret And a ton more.....
Every report I've read suggests Marcel won quite clearly, including a thread started by a certain Moe Green when the topic came up on this site previously I imagine it's that clear that if I see a draw I best start following another sport
Some very competitive rounds early. Shibata was a fantastic left handed fighter, could counter with his quick and sharp left hook as well as anyone I've seen. The fact Marcel drubs him without scoring a K.O is even more impressive for me.
Im 36 years old so of a certain time as well, and ive been coming on this site for 7 or 8 years on and off. The question is best fights youve seen and this is mine. Maybe GMan would prefer to be remembered by nights like this rather than the man he's become ?Respect has nothing to do with it IMHO. The Eubank watson rematch is discussed openly here, why not this one?
merqui sosa vs prince charles williams I and II - ill never stop singing the praises of these 2 fights on this forums....most brutal pair of fights at 175....EVER!!!!!
I quite agree, it is a personal thing. I am bemoaning a 'tradition lost'; that being admiring those severely injured/killed in the sport, but 'out of respect' not re-watching the fights where the injuries/deaths occurred. A 'tradition' in the same sense I would bemoan the end of 15 round fights, or the obsession with statistical perfection which causes poor matchmaking. It is not meant as a dig, but as a difference of opinion.
Although I disagree with your final sentence, the two fights were sensational, particularly the first, which goes down in history as a 'literal' if not 'technical' double TKO. A technical, double technical knockout... A bit of a mouth full, so it goes down as a technical draw in the record books.
Marciano-Walcott I... Dempsey-Firpo... Hagler-Hearns... Basilio-DeMarco...I + II... Moore-Durelle I... Louis-Conn I... Marciano-Charles II... Gatti-Ward... Ali-Frazier I...
I'm not sure? It is not really in my most favorite fights, but it was agreat and exciting fight against two of the highest skilled operators ever to face off??? Sounds like a solid pick
Bowe-Holyfield I Pryor-Arguello I Corrales-Castilio I Morales-Barrera I Ali-Frazier III Duran-Leonard I Hagler-Hearns Trinidad-Vargas Mosley-De La Hoya I Marquez-Vazquez III
