Sirenko Usyk and Gassiev will move up to heavyweight and make lots of waves for sure. There are more. I saw Usyk very easily out boxing and totally out class Joyce, it was no contest, yet Joyce is 6 feet 6 inches tall, weighs a lot more...........Usyk made a fool out of Joyce...........
Tyson Fury doesn´t qualify as a prospect.. - I´d say Teslenko. Height, skills, movement and fast hands. I hope he steps up ASAP.
Almost forgot The Baddest Man On The Planet: Junlong Zhang! The Dragon King would annihilate both AJ and DW on the same night!
If they all fought now, I would favour Joyce. But he's probably in his prime already at 32, while guys like Dubois and Hrgovic are young and have more potential to become better. Dychko at 27 maybe still to peak but I haven't been impressed with what I've see and his stamina was an issue as an amateur, as a pro it could be his undoing. Yoka should already be serving a drug ban, lacks power and any inside skills. But at 25 and with Hunter in his corner could improve, but I don't have high hopes and might struggle to get fights at top level if he becomes a spoiler which I suspect he will with Hunter and his lack of power. Dubois looked good early but didn't impress last time out. At only 20 he's the baby of the division, he needs to improve a lot to succeed, his power and being a Brit will likely help him in regards to popularity but he is so unproven at the moment and might be a good 5-6 years away or more from being ready for the top level. Hrgovic for me seems to have the most potential being 25 and probably the best in terms of fundamentals. But he has some big flaws too, but he's young enough to fix them before he steps up to a level where they get exposed. But he needs to be brought along slowly, can't be rushed as he isn't anywhere good enough at the moment.
Hrgovic is good all-around fighter, but his power isn't impressive. Dubois can hit very hard, but he is still very raw. Joyce is big, strong and has a very awkward style, but also a very questionable chin considering the fact theat he was knocked out twice in the first round when he was an amateur. Yoka is tall and has good reflexes, but in amateurs he was knocked out cold by Savon, so his chin is questionable (Savon can punch, but AJ, for example, took his best punches well) Dychko is extremely tall and has good fundamentals, but how good is his power? He was also knocked out cold in the amateurs by Madjidov. Sirenko has good power and offencive skills, but in the amatuers his defense didn't lood good - he was too vulnerable for jabs and uppercuts. All in all I think it will come down to who has higher IQ to learn and develope his boxing skills, and who has more desire to work on his weaknesses.
That is interesting. On face value I didn't think much of Joyce, but now you highlighted the subtleties I will go back and watch him. Often there are fighters that are actually quite effective but look awkward and average.
Dychko/Joyce(Joshua also get 1 loss from Kuzmin, but the judges score different)<Kuzmin<Hrgovic. At least that is how it was in the amateurs.
I think Efe Ajagba has massive potential if handled well. Seems to have incredible power and did extremely well for himself as an amateur(41-2 with 30 KOs) given he apparently didn't have access to proper training facilities or sparring partners.
