Although everything Ali did from that stage on when he was sick with Parkinson's both does not involve live contenders, & is not really a strike against him.
You could say Lewis was not even nearly a pro when Ali was doing great as a HW & had an Olympic gold medal as a teen-he was better younger, but we are adding up total accomplishments.

Also Frazier was not "fat" for his bouts with Ali. That is absurd. While leaner then than some modern day fighters, why do you need to see someone ripped to understand & respect their boxing greatness?

I'd also take Ali first because of his Foreman/Liston wins, but I don't think it's wrong to have Louis ahead. Louis had less spectacular top tier wins, but his resume is a bit deeper (as ridiculous as it sounds) and he had less questionable losses than Ali (Norton fights and Spinks).

 

Ali for me. He cleared the division out twice 10 years apart
