I'm recent weeks, Elton Dharry v Andrew Maloney, I think it's appropriate for this thread. He lost fair and square but really only because his eye was very badly swollen. Honestly I think he would have won the fight otherwise. He was fighting well out of one eye!
Deontay Wilder vs Fury. Lost every round barring the KD, then nearly pulled a Hail Mary KO in the final round. Had Fury not been possessed by the irate shades of his fighting ancestors willing him to get up Wilder might well have got the stoppage.
Holyfield losing to Bowe. Going in Evander was accused of being a blown up cruiser, only to fight old geezers like Holmes & Foreman -& failed to stop either. Got reduced to a standing 8 against Bert Cooper. Had there been an internet with forums I may have been a Holy-hater cause I agreed or bought into all that was questioned about him- He will lose to the first young live HW...IF he doesn't continue to cherry pick. Well, as that fight moved into the latter rounds seeing Holy down on the cards couldn't but notice, he's fighting a warrior's fight. And of course Holy Bowe Round 10. Don't remember where I watched it, but remember everyone in the house stood up & applauded the tv at the end of that round. They scored it for Bowe, but I became a Real-Deal Holyfield fan that night. Margarito vs Williams. Williams won on volume punching but as the rounds wore on, Rito seemed to landing more effective punches. Up till the Cotto fight I started to watch as many Margarito fights as possible because of how strong he came on against Williams. A case cam be made he won. Someone here mentioned Cotto-Mosley. I saw the same thing...Cotto wanted no more of Shane the last 3 or so rounds he went cycling & I saw Mosley's stance strong enough that I picked him to beat Margarito. Emanuel Augustus- quite a few losses from him, I thought was biased because he like to dance & clown.

Holyfield - Bowe I come to mind here. Holyfield went in there with the wrong game plan and got royally beat up by Bowe in the majority of the fight. Yet he fought on, despite getting hurt in round ten and knocked down in round elleven. He came back in the last round and gave it his all, even hurt Bowe a little bit, but it wasn’t enough. It wasn’t that close compared to other fights in this thread, I’m aware of that. I also pick this fight because it kind of “made” Holyfield, he became the warrior we have known and respected in a losing effort.
joshua in the first Ruiz fight over 41 year old two year layoff Wlad in the Joshua fight?? Lol I think not.
