I thought Wilder did pretty well when losing to Fury.

hearns in the first sugar ray fight? if it was the standard 12 rounder he'd prob have 2 wins over SRL now

Even though it was ruled a draw in a recount michael broadie in the first injin chi fight was all heart, his face was something from a horror film after it but he kept on going

kov in the first ward fight?

groves in the first froch fight

    Macklin against Jaime moore

maidana did alot better than anyone thought in the first mayweather fight
although castillo prob came closer to the win

mathysse beat up judah and alexander but ended up losing both
on the other side i though provodinkov fought a really good fight againt lucas

macklin was ahead on some of the scorecards before martinez stopped him
same with Andy lee vs Chavez jnr (back when chavez was seen as a beast and actually had discipline)

then theres lara, trout and GGG against canelo but thats more edging towards robberies rather than performances

obv quite recently ryder vs smith

just a few off the top of the head

    Mcguigan v Cruz.
Although he was expected to win, the heat really got to him, but he fought until he couldn't stand anymore

You're gonna laugh at me, as I laughed at myself when I thought it but

Haye V Bellew 1 , Haye was ****ed before he got in the ring, then his Achilles went and he still fought on and tried to look for a way to win.

Granted it was only Bellew and it was a panto match up but Haye had a rep for pulling out of fights and toe excuses but in my book gained a lot of respect for his efforts in the ring that night (regardless of what I thought about the PPV)

I will not include outright robberies that should've gone the other way.

Quartey's loss to De La Hoya.

    I laughed Odin.
That pesky ref stopped Joshua from completely turning the fight around...

Without question the #1 performance in a losing effort is Sugar Ray Leonard against Duran.

I suppose this year (and recent memory) it has to be Donaire against Inoue.
