Yep, something special about the whole Eubank entrance including the jumping over the top rope (sadly missed against Thompson). Was a huge Eubank fan as well :good
Absolutely mate, I often think it's just nostalgia because that's when I got into boxing but it really was a classic time with great fights and fighters. Real characters of the game that captured the imagination of the general public. Having Benn, Watson, Eubank and Collins in the same era was like our Hagler, Leonard, Duran and Hearns era in a way.
Agree with most of this, except I think Barrera wins 10.Dont think Naz went into this with his usual confidence.Won a bit of cash on it too.Was told by somebody in the know that he trained for it.Only my opinion, but he seemed happy enough to go the distance. Was a terrific fighter, maybe not hungry enough.
best one for me was Kelly, especially as that was his first fight in the states. Liked the McCullough one too. Didnt see anything there that was as disrespectful as some peeps make out. It was haloween and he played on that (i think it was Watt or McRory that mentioned it as being a bit off but what I didnt see the harm. Apparently Michael Jackson was supposed to make that entrance with Naz to sing Thriller live but his security pulled him out at the last second for security reasons) The one with the rose petals being thrown in front of the golden throne was a good un too
