Smoger, Bayliss & Weeks. Hope 1 of them gets the call for Pavlik-Hopkins. Pavlik always does well with Smoger.
Hmmm don't know... one could always just start a count maybe? After all he seemed fine as soon as Nady stopped it...
Thats not true. Minutes went by before Judah made a fool of himself and went straight toward Nady, putting his glove on his throat. Judah, mentally was ready and eager to show he was OK to go.....but it was his own fault for the stoppage for not taking his time to clear his head and to get his feet under him. How in hell do you let a fighter continue after that dance display? Absolutely not! .....and hindsight says Judah would have been toast anyways.....he's shown in every big fight after Tszyu that he's menatally a midget in the ring. Judah in the condition he was in would have been put to sleep by Tszyu, who is a sharp, precise, powerpuncher.
I concur that Tszyu would have KO'd him soon after that knockdown. And yes, Judah was a FOOL for trying to be "cocky" with no legs! I mean I see your point, BUT at least couldn't Nady let him try and get up for a second time, counting at the same time? Would that be totally wrong and out of the question for you?
I don't care for Nady, because he inviovles himself a bit too much and basically does not allow inside fighting, BUT he's a good ref because he is consistent. When Nady is the ref, you basically know what you are getting. Someone like Cortez... you have no idea what you are in for. Sometimes he get involved too much, sometimes he lets things go. Smoger is good. He leaves the fighters alone, isn't quick to stop either. Bayless has been a good ref too. (I miss Mitch Halpern)
I still like Joe Cortez and Victor Drakulich..... Kenny Bayless is good, too..... Jay Nady is way too bossy in the ring..... Steve Smoger is top-notch.... Randy Neuman sucks weenie as a ref....... The rest of the batch, I really don't G.A.F. about..... MR.BILL
Mills Lane and Arthur Mercante, Sr. were the BEST ever....... A prime Richard Steele was also very good....... Larry Hazzard was also very bossy, but good... Runner up: Carlos Padilla... MR.BILL
Kenny bayless without a doubt. Who can forget Jay Nady saying "That is a Bozo no-no" while reffing a fight last year?
Richard Steele was in Don Kings pocket if you want proof watch Quincy Taylor-Keith Holmes. Holmes, managed by Don King's son Carl, was declared the winner bySteele to" Save Taylor further punishment" ROFL Holmes hit him ONCE!!!! and that was on top of his head. All other punches were blocked or slipped That was the only time I ever saw Curtis Cokes lose his cool
Mitch Halpern was a manic depressant...... He flipped out over a "*****" wanting to leave him..... So, he popped a cap in his own ass.... Dumb.. MR.BILL
Just went over to youtube and saw the dance clip. Its not an easy call.....I do see where Nady could have continued his count, but what we're talking about here is that Nady would have been deep into the count by the time Judah gets up again.....as a referee, Nady does have to weigh heavily that he just saw Judah's legs just give right under him, with absolutely no control over them. Nady made his decision right then and there, when he saw Judah did'nt have control of his legs. I cant really fault him for that in that situation. .....but yeah, maybe a better referee does give Judah the full eight count, but guess what? That referee even after the eight count and judah having got up again.....would have found that his legs still were'nt steady enough to have let him continue.
