When i was a very young guy we had a massive bloke called "The Binman"...I'm fairly sure his parents called him by another given name, but we only knew him as "The Binman" or "B". Anyway, we were in the Witchknowe club in Kilmarnock in the early 60's, maybe late 50's for a show. The bout was held up because "B" didn't have a sash on. For some reason amateurs used to have this bit of cloth around their waist to make the fight legal and there was no way that this fight would go ahead without this wee bit of cloth. After about an hour a sash was found, placed around "B" and the fight eventually got underway. He was sparked cold in 2 seconds. And we missed last orders which were at 10 PM then. The Binman was a Lege for many years. I rambled...sorry I met him many years later and he had no recollection of it....to be fair, by then, he couldn't remember his own name.
