Depends on what type of fighter it is.

Exactly, I would certainly not throw every fighter with a guy like Steward. I do not believe that Roach would have anything to teach to a guy like Mayweather.

Anyway, my favorite is Beristain. He's not just a big name attracting other big names. He trained world champs from start to finish and I respect that.

I don't think there is a "Best" trainer out there. You just have guys who are successful like Roach, Steward, Nacho, etc. A lot of these guys get fighters who are already current or former champions. I have the most respect for trainers that build champions from the ground up like Nacho and Garcia. Lately it seems like Roach and Steward are just trying to tweek and improve guys that are already established in the sport.... Nacho probably produces more champions and Olympians from the ground up than any other trainer.

Different trainers are good for different boxers so its difficult to have a conclusive "best trainer". Nacho, roach, nazeem, steward are all up there though.

Roach or Richardson. Steward is vastly overrated. Great at training one kind of fighter, pretty crappy with everyone else, and he really seems to have problems motivating guys who aren't already self-moticated (e.g., Taylor, Dawson). Garcia and Sarimento are both on great runs right now too, although I also think Garcia's training is a bit one-dimensional. Beristain deserves a shout as well, though I'm questioning if he's passed his prime.

Hard to point the very best.

Roach, Steward, R. Shields, Nazim Richardson, Beristan, Garcia deserve mention.

Floyd Sr. would be in that group if he could keep his punk mouth shut.

depends what you want in a trainer

roach brings out the best in fighters and taps into untapped potential e.g pacquiao, khan etc

steward is the best at helping fighters use their best attributes i.e he makes tall fighters fight tall

the best for making game plans is naazim or roach

beristain is a great teacher of technique

so its up for debate really.....

Steward is a master at training tall boxers, but I'm not convienced about him and normal sized boxers.
Roach learned the art of training from one of the best ever Eddie Futch.
I think all 3 Mayweather Brothers are very good but Floyd Sr. and Roger defently have egos that need to be filled.
I think Robert Garcia is an ******* but he's also a very good trainer.
