I like that flat bench so I might end up doing that and just not bothering with incline stuff. I prefer flat bench and militaries anyway. Doylexxx, that's a nice rack mate but I haven't got the room tbh. I'm not even sure where I can keep a barbell yet, which is why I haven't bought one. I'll have to build a lean-to up against my existing she and stick a load of tools in it to make room for my bench and barbell.
Smalls, sort me out a discount code for your mate's website will ya? Are the Captains of Crush grippers worth buying as well? Thought I'd buy the No.1s for something to do when I'm watching telly.
He's Scottish, so he's a tight ****, so no The grippers are good, fat gripz are also ok but you will use them less.
Smell bull****? I am still deeply offended you ignored my sensible post in your other thread, but I shall inquire as to why you are smelling bull****. Grippers are decent for grip, fat gripz are good but slightly less convenient and you do get bored of using them, and he doesn't have a barbell, where there are more uses. Doing db rows with fat gripz, if I recall correctly, is nigh on impossible to do with any significant weight. Might be wrong, but doubtful.
How fat are these FatGripz? The bench is quality, Smalls. Only £10 delivery as well and very quick. Well happy with it.
The guy is well known as the fastest delivery service in the UK with any of this ****, prides himself on it. Glad you like it mate, might buy one myself. Setting up a home gym from the guy's site in a few months, can't ****ing weight. It was something like 250kg total delivery weight and it was around 60 quid estimated delivery cost.
regular one arm dumbell rows on most that I have tried gets to be pretty grip intensive when are you are working with 50kg or so, especially for high rep sets 10-20. Add in another 2 inches of diameter to that, and I doubt I could do more than a couple at a time, so I'd be working with something like 10-20kg less to get the reps I wanted in, but obviously a lot lower weight. And my grip is a strength of mine, I'm not someone who is limited by grip on anything. Its like farmers walk, I think my best with fat gripz was 60kg for 40 odd metres, and my best is 120kg for 30m without any drops. I think their benefit is to make the bar thicker on certain movements that hurt people on a regular diameter bar, like curls, bench etc. They are a good addition for pullups and things like that, where grip should never really be an issue, but with adding them in you will get some extra work in which is great. Remember it doesn't make the bar a fat bar or axle width, 2" diameter, which is great for a lot of things. It ADDS 2" of diameter, so that takes the grip of a regular bar to 3", and diameter of some dumbells to over 3", I know the dumbells I have used have a larger than barbell diameter handle as the normal size ones can't support larger weights. edit: they are 2.5"? then add that extra half inch and you work it out! That's what a lot of people forget, it adds that diameter, it doesn't become that diameter. Ok it doesn't add the whole diameter as it does have a hole in the middle of it, but we are still talking about the diameter of the end result to be at least 2.5".
Very rarely are olympic bars 1 inch in diameter, that's 25mm. Olympic weightlifting bars are 28mm, powerlifting bars and squat bars are thicker 30-32mm, and cheaper bars are around that size too.
