Kovalev did beat Ward, handily. Any objective viewer knows this. Hell, Letterman had it 116-111 Kovalev and Ward is the American fighting in the US. In Russia, Ward may have been given a couple of rounds. Maybe.

I had it a draw or 1 point to Kovalev so I don't think Kovalev deserved to lose his titles but I think Ward deserved a rematch coz it was so close.

Ward vs barerra was a blow out whether it had been in Miami, Cuba or Timbuktu. I actually put a small cheeky bet on barerra coz I rated him and I thought it was crazy odds after Ward had such a big lay off.

Lederman is biased so I don't care what he thinks, I'm more interested in people who don't have agendas like the skysport people and alot of them had it a draw or Ward by 1. Now anyone who had Kovalev by 1 or 2 isnt being unrealistic but if you had it wide then I'm skeptical about your scoring ability.

I was of the few who picked him to beat shabransky, I'm not sure how he would fair against Beterbiev he has a shot against him, if the odds are crazy like they were for this fight just gone i would bet on barerra.

But he has no chance against Ward that's clear, I would never pick him to beat Kovalev too.

Agreed, I never denied that fact. But it was a close fight, much closer than Ward/Barrera, do you agree on that fact?

Let's be honest here. Let's assume Ward was the champion and he KD'd Kovalev early and then went on to have multiple close rounds, rounds essentially that could have gone either way. Do you think the fight would have been scored for Kovalev? Ward was handed a gift. I'm not saying Ward wasn't competitive and showed heart, he did, but he didn't win the fight. He showed a gritty performance, given the fact that he was KD'd early but did he win the fight? Absolutely not.

And to have all 3 judges score the fight 114-113, disagreeing on multiple rounds? The fix was in on this fight. Of this I have no doubt. Max Kellerman, Ward's biggest fan, gave Kovalev the fight 114-113. Let's get real here.

you'll be surprised and yes he does he as a good chance against anyone, he'd be an underdog vs both but i wouldn't him off at all

I agree that could have been the case but Kovalev gassed from round 5-10. I think Kovalev and Duva were arrogant and thought Ward would get ko'd so they never cared about the judges etc.

Regardless if the rematch goes ahead will you be placing your money on Kovalev (if the judges come from more neutral countries)?
, I got Ward UD in a dominate performance.

Agreed. Beterbiev has a decent shot at KO'ing Ward and an outside chance at beating Kovalev. The reason I think he has a decent chance at KO'ing Ward is because Ward likes to sit in the pocket and hook to the body. If you sit inside with Beterbiev you will not last long. Kovalev would try and keep his distance. This would not be a good match-up for Ward.

How would he have a better chance of koing Ward than Kovalev if Ward is the more defensive of the two.

As I said, Ward would sit in the pocket whereas Kovalev would try to get it done from the outside. That is the only way you are going to beat Beterbiev, stay outside. You cannot trade with him on the inside. Even though Ward is extraordinary at this it would be playing Russian Roulette with a more powerful fighter.

Fair enough I can see how you can get there with that analysis, although I think Beterbiev is shorter than Ward not sure about their reach but Ward could fight him the outside or smother him inside too but that's just my opinion.

Hopefully Beterbiev gets in the mix the more top names fighting the better in my eyes I just want good fights ultimately.
