Since when does amateur boxing have a Cruiser weight division? And amateur boxing isn't really a test of physical strength so your claim is completely made up. He didn't look stranger than Micheal Hunter when they did come together , he also got out boxed by Hunter and should have been eliminated. This content is protected
Good find. A few thoughts. 1) Beterbiev has looked better than that in other fights. Bad day at the office? 2) Hunter was a pretty good boxer; I liked the way he landed his shots and turned around Artur. 3) Hunter could indeed have won that match. 4) Hunter was also the naturally bigger man, which helped negate Artur's strength and most importantly, 5) They were both gassing three rounds in with headgear. Marciano was still throwing punches in bunches deep into his fights. THAT is what we're talking about when we say he's an ATG.
I agree he should've lost that fight. He was extremely flat and is much better than that. I call it cruiserweight because it IS cruiserweight....although it's called heavyweight because there is a super heavyweight division, too. Didn't want to cause confusion...I guess I'll call it heavyweight then. But no it's not a test of physical strength but he has shown great physical strength in the ring which is what I'm talking about. Incidentally, the main threat he poses against any of the LHW's today in this decent era is his ability to manhandle his opponents with physical strength on the inside and just blast them out of there. On top of that, he does LOOK physically the strongest too given the thick compact muscle and bone. Hell, even his knuckles are like clubs: http://www.thefightcity.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/09/reva-beterbiev.jpg
If Arur hit Don the amount of times Marciano hit him, he would leave the ring on a stretcher and never fight again
i'll pick him over don. on rocky i'm with the consensus, the guy can clearly fight but give it a few years.
