Better All-Around Fighter: Primo Carnera or Riddick Bowe?

Can I just thank you for this wonderful thread you honestly are the reason I stayed on this forum, I was so bored of the zealous fanboism and racism to the point of surrendering till I began reading jokes about “Primo>Bowe” feeling out of the loop I asked around till it came to uncovering the beast that is this magnificent thread after reading every page of this thread I realised the fun side of this place, serenity here comes in a healthy diet of knowledge and trolling.

And Carnera would not only slay Bowe but everyone Bowe ever beat, including Holyfield!

 

It would be a mismatch CW against Valhalla weight. Ahahaha

 

Bowe is definitely better overall fighter than Carnera, but for all this Primo hate, I'd like to see anyone who has too much free time doing the same thing mrkoolkevin did but for Bowe instead. I mean, sure Primo wasn't great at all but Bowe was quite unimpressive and oaf for his own. I'd definitely find clips in which Bowe did worse things than being outjabbed by Jack Sharkey who had amazing jab....

 

With the requisite dedication Bowe could have been a top ten all time heavyweight imo.
Bowe's opponents did not have to be paid to lose.

Carnera wouldn't have made the top 40 no matter what he did.imo
Stating the truth is not hate, it's telling it like it actually was.

 

I don't deny - Bowe was more talented boxer. I find him overrated though, he had poor defense and was pretty much all about his physical advantages. He's not a good boxer (although he has very good infighting ability for his size) and he was a plodder, even though he wasn't unathletic. He was quite durable and had decent handspeed but his ring IQ wasn't high ti say the least.

He's also not proven enough to call him all-timer. Holyfield trylogy was amazing, but Evander was much smaller and he liked brawling inside which suited Bowe. We haven't seen Bowe against top punchers like Tyson, big powerful boxers like Lewis or great outside boxers like Holmes.

For all this talk about Carnera being a fixed fraud, he was matched much more agressively than Bowe. He fought basically all top tier contenders outside of Schmeling.
