I'd say Jack Dempsey is the better all-rounder for sure.

I'd pick Vitali to stop him if they had a fight.

Dempsey by default as Vitali is incredibly one dimensional, although imo it was a hell of a dimension.

Pound for pound you can say Dempsey. As a heavyweight and head to head Vitali. Really its to the point where you shouldn't compare heavyweights 100 years part. They are just too small for the most part.

Dempsey was far more versatile fighter. Vitali relied heavily on his physical features and I'm not sure how well he'd deal with someone bigger than him. Vitali was also weak inside fighter. Dempsey had his share of weaknesses, but he could fight with anyone.

All round fighter it’s Dempsey by some considerable distance.
Head to head size would simply come into it, Vitali is too big, but even then I think Dempsey could give him plenty to think about.

Weak inside fighter? He was rather dangerous up close. Watch clips, you'll see uppercuts and body shots.

Watched the entire video. I saw 2 (two) body shots, and lots of punches behind the head.

Vitali was probably too big for Dempsey but has the wrong style for a win. Dempseys head movement was excellent as he bobbed and weaved up and down side to side. If, and that's a big IF, Dempsey could get inside that long jab he'd work Klits body. Still, I'd see a Vitali win.

I agree it's unfair to match men 100 years apart and with a 60 pound weight differential.

I don't need to watch highlight video, I was Klitschkos fan.

Wow, I am not sure what is worse: Vitali's speed, or his level of competition. If that is Vitali's highlight reel, I think that they should consider revoking his status at the IBHOF. Don't get me wrong, his size, chin, and conditioning made him a dangerous fighter for most smaller heavyweights. But, his skills are just not elite. It seems that (much like Wilder) his best knockouts were often (illegal) shots to the back of the head. I am not saying he did it on purpose, but, those shots are not legal.

There's an argument that Dempsey is the most versatile of the great attackers. He could chop down the giants and out-fine the technicians. Vitali, with his awkwardness and chin, is trouble for anyone, though fans lose me when they yap about a head-to-head monster. The winning record simply isn't there. Ike Ibeabuchi shouldn't get a pass here either despite (arguably) having a better record.

Regarding a fight between them, one thing should be acknowledged. Jack would know how to engage the Ukrainian. The circling motion. The body-to-head assaults. Vitali would be facing something totally new.
