Roman Gonzalez is better than Amir Khan.

Amir Khan has a deeper division (& weight range) to play in & prove himself against, so Gonzalez will always be one of those "looks talented but who did he really beat" types no matter who he gets in the ring.

Gonzalez is far more skilled. All Khan has is speed pretty much. Chocolatito is the far more rounded fighter overall.

Gonzalez is real fun to watch and a real rounded fighter one of my top fighters to watch because you know every time he enters the ring you getting all action fight, Khan is ok and has skills but they match him up with the right guy's to make him look good and his chin where as Gonzalez he will fight the best because he is that good.

    Exactly.

I can respect that, as far as ratings go, but I think he's better, regardless.

    Yep.

I am very impressed with Khan, as an athlete. His speed is great to watch and combined with his size and not being as lacking in toughness as a lot of us thought, he's definitely a tough ask for any 140-pounder there now. This isn't a Khan hate thread. It's only drawing attention to Gonzalez by comparing him with a much more famous young champ that's highly regarded. I don't want to come across as a Khan hater. I like to watch him too.

Gonzalez is better, but I also share the sentiment that I have to rate Khan higher/think he's closer to breaking the top ten of the sport too. He's got much more to work with, indeed. If only we had something like Segura/Gonzalez, that might change.

Khan has a better resume, and is therefore better P4P. Gonzalez might look technically better, but that doesn't necessarily make him better if he hasn't really proved it against comparable competition. That's not entirely his fault though, I admit.

I actually think Khan gets underrated somewhat in this regard too, his speed and athleticism might be his greatest assets, but they're not ALL he has going for him. He's a great boxer with good punch variety regardless of his speed.

Not necessarily. Greb's resume didn't make him better than Robinson. Foreman's resume doesn't make him better than Tyson, imo. Etc.

I dunno man, I usually rank guys based on what they've actually achieved as opposed to their perceived abilities. Foreman definitely ranks higher P4P than Tyson for me.

I can see where you're coming from though, fair enough. I mean I guess we all have our own criteria when it comes to this kinda stuff.

I'm really happy that this turned out close, considering the disparity in attention they get.

Gonzalez is a better technician all around. one of the best in-fighters in the game right now (though that may not be saying much). awesome offensive fighter.

Khan's as basic as it gets
