Compared to Valuev and shot Ruiz, Arreola is brilliant. You just have to see it in the context. Valuev and Ruiz are some of the biggest bums ever to become champions.
Arreola would struggle against Valuev...and I'm not even certain he would beat Ruiz other than by decision.
But they still became champions whatever way you look at it. I can't see Arreola ever becoming champion...the closest he will ever come to that belt is standing in the opposite corner against Klitschko before getting battered. Two crusierweights in Adamek and Haye have move up to Heavyweight and already overtaken him. :deal
Yes, because Valuev is a supreme tehnician. Valuev would serve a good punching bag. And Arreola could just stay in front of him, he doesn't need to resort to running tactics. Arreola took punches from Vitali, he took punches from Adamek. Valuev's punches would tickle him.
I was thinking the same thing, I think both Valuev and even this old version of Ruiz would be tough enough to possibly beat Arreola. The guy is durable and has decent power but he has poor defence and and very little skill. Adamek has impressed me but we still really don't know how good he is at heavyweight. The fact Arreola was so easily outboxed just shows how bad Arreola is.
That was the fight that had to prove where is the Adamek's place at HW. Now I know that he is no4 in the division with a big chance to become the no3.
And Arreola is a great technician? atsch Valuev is very awkward due to his size and is very durable himself. While Valuev couldn't hurt Arreola I don't think Arreola can hurt Valuev either. Haye and Holyfield used speed and movement to befuddle Valuev. Your right in that Arreola would not resort to what you call running tatics but then againif he tried to box and move he'd probably trip over his own feet.
We don't really know how good both Adamek and Haye are at Heavyweight. I'd prefer both to take on some hungry contenders before stepping up against the Klitschko's (in my opinion anyway)...everyone seems to be making that mistake at the minute. Becoming mandatory with very little experience...and then taking a beating. I think Haye needs to make the fight with Wlad now though...especially having said he was going to.
Paper champions. Haye hasn't shown anything. Beat two bums, ducked the Klitschkos. I can at least pay respect to Arreola for going up to fight Vitali, as I can respect him for taking the Adamek challenge, a dangerous fight to take. I can respect Adamek for fighting Estrada, not top class, but a mover/boxer who didn't really fit his style, as I can respect him for taking on Arreola, a very dangerous opponent to take. That is how you move up the scales, by keeping quiet and fighting names as they come. Haye chose the paper belt, fought the paper mandatory and now wants to rest on his laurels. The whole WBC thingy is a Don King gash, always has been, always will be. The best boxer of that crop fought Wlad in one of the most one sided beatings you could find.
Why are you referring to Haye as if I am in some way trying to defend him? I like watching Haye, but I'm not his biggest fan. Like I said, he needs to face Wlad next...although this bout may still happen. Fair play to Arreola for taking on tough challenges...but it doesn't stop the fact he was beaten comfortably when he stepped up in class. He's America's last hope in the Heavyweights for a couple years at least...I can see why people try to defend him...even though he is a hype job, in my opinion!
