He isn't the future of the division, as he was being promoted to be, but he'd destroy Barrett and win versus Ruiz in an ugly fight.
Perhaps - lets see what he goes on to achieve. I do not see too many decent fights out there for him right now. He will most likely go KO some bums until he can get himself a shot at a good fighter and then he will be outclassed again.
Who is voting for Haye?! He has fought two 38 year olds, who were over the hill. And got a gift decision against Valuev. Adamek fought an over the hill Golota. a slick boxer in Estrada and now Arreola. Adamek has fought the better competition.
Adamek is edging out Haye's HW resume just like he did at CW, and he's doing it in half the time. Everyone trying to discredit Arreola now yet most people, including so called experts like Atlas and Merchant, felt it was a big mistake by Adamek to take him. On the other hand, everyone saw Haye as the favorite against Valuev and thought he was picking the weakest link in the HW chain, the easiest target. Yet, Haye still managed to dissapoint in that fight. In beating Ruiz, Haye dominated a man who 8 frickin years ago went life and death and probably lost to a spent Golota. TA-DH match is inevitable imo and it will be good for boxing.
FFS. Valuev has fought better fighters than Arreola. Beat better fighters than Arreola. Even if you turn over a couple of close/dodgy wins and make them losses - he's STILL had better wins than arreola. Not one person on this thread has managed to say what makes Arreola so good other than "he's dangerous". Based on what? Being fat? Thinking using boxing skills is for women? crying? Seriously? he lost every ****ing round to Vitaly. He just lost to Adamek. he beat Chazz witherspoon and an ancient McCline (who valuev beat too remember). Ruiz Liakhovich Barrett (at the time) Beck (just) are all better than Witherspoon. Even ignring the donald fight, and the fact he only lost to chagaev on a MD.
As I posted above, the betting lines had adamek as favourite. They're normally more correct than so called experts. Barrett was a tune-up, doesn't count. Valuev was the only belt holder not related to another one, and ruiz was a mandatory. those 2 fights in reality haye had no choice over his opponents, once it was obvoius the Wlad/Vitali fights weren't going to happen. So to criticise haye for fighting those 2 when he had no choice if he wanted a belt, is harsh. I think Adamek is doing really well, and showing balls like I wish all fighters did. And an Adamek/Haye fight would be great for boxing, no arguments. ****, if Adamek could get an aging Vitali on the slide, and Haye lands a lucky punch on Wlad, they could fight in a year for all the marbles.....
No way in hell Valuev beats Arreola. Valuev clearly lost to 46-old Holyfield. The only point why Haye didnt look dominant over Valuev is Haye's chin. Arreola has far more better chin than Haye. He could trade some punches with Valuev, while Haye wasnt able. Think about it.
The loss to Chagaev should have been a clear UD for Ruslan. I won't argue that Valuev has the better resume, and Valuev at his best definitely beats Arreola, but Valuev has clearly been in decline.
Ruiz and Valuev are better than, basically, Arreola. The rest of both mens opponents aren't worth mentioning.
So.. Arreola + big puncher + good chin + good stamina + decent handspeed - limited skills Valuev + good chin + decent stamina when he can clinch for around 2:50 every round - featherfisted - slowest boxer ever - no skills at all Beating an old slow featherfisted all time disgrace is not even close to that what Adamek did.. The Klits have fought the best available for years. Haye ducked, Solis ducked, Valuev ducked, Poventkin is on the way at least he ducked Vitali.. Sosnowski accepted. Chambers beat Peter and outclassed previously unbeaten Dimitrenko so he earned the mandatory shot well. Also Gomez earned the spot after he had beaten Virchis and McCall. Ruiz got it as damn present for nothing. Arreola is dangerous based on the Vitali-fight who had to step out on several occasions and also on Adamek fight. If he got himself in proper shape he would be a danger to everyone since he can punch he is always a danger to Haye. Haye was never hitten by anything close to that what Adamek took. Valuev was outboxed by Donald, Holy, Chagaev, Haye... Okay Adamek was the betting fav.. forget about it :happy
golota was fourty and fat as **** by the time adamek fought him, and has always been a b-level journeyman. you swing at thin air and get countered you'll lose a fight. its been like that now and it'll be like that forever. :roflatsch what the **** is so slick about estrada?? the guy is at the bottom of the barrel fighting nobodies for a damn good reason:-( man, adameks nuts are throat deep on this one. either that or you must be polish
Even if, on some hypothetical plane, Valuev is better (i.e., would beat) Arreola, as unlikely as this sounds, let's suppose they are of equal quality. Now, who's performance there was more convincing? Adamek's against Arreola or Haye's against Valuev. C'mon get a grip. Haye was running scared **** of Valuev's shadow all night long and came up with a questionable decision, while Adamek battered Arreola's face from pilar to post, giving him a boxing lesson, while actually taking some risks in trying to win a fight. Haye was flat out boring and ineffective against Big Foot. What Haye managed to do to Vlauev in one or two last rounds, Adamek was doing to Arreola the entire fight. We learned nothing constructive about Haye when he barely beat Valuev. While Adamek showcased his ring IQ, speed and chin. Adamek's win over Arreola is simply of higher quality than Haye's over Valuev. Haye can have the shiny trinket on his waist. Adamek has the better HW resume. Coupled with his campaigns at LHW and CW, plus a much better loss than Haye, Adamek has the better career resume too.
