BETTER WIN: SERGIO Beating FLOYD @ 154 or WARD @ 168 (?)

Floyd.... Ward is a great win but Floyd is in another level...sure Sergio would be the bigger man but Floyd has a style that would create more challenges than Ward.... However...Andre's size would also be a challenge for Sergio at 168. I just think beating Floyd is a bigger feather in ones cap than Andre Ward.

Without even looking at the poll, I know it's going to be a minority opinion - but beating PBF at 154 would IMO be more difficult (taking styles and size into consideration) for Maravilla than beating SOG @ 168.

Ward would be the better win. He's bigger than Martinez and younger than Mayweather. No excuses if he lost to Martinez. Mayweather could claim he was at a disadvantage.

Ward lacks the power to give Martinez a quick death :yep.. Serge is calling out the cash cows, something Ward at the moment isn't; Is Chavez a toddler?. And he's already said he'd fight Ward at a catch weight of 164, if Ward don't want that then that's his problem. IMO Ward needs to make the Bute fight happen, if not move the **** up and take on Cloud or the B-Hop/Dawson winner.. Ward hasn't beaten anyone yet to be over rating him the way some of you do.

Martinez beating Ward would be more impressive in my opinion. We already know that Martinez can KO the naturally smaller fighters he faces. Although doubtful he could beat Mayweather, if he did, it would be so what he beat another smaller guy, and this time he would not only be smaller, but also shorter.

Ward on the other hand would be much more impressive as a scalp, because Ward is a little bigger than Martinez, slick, a great infighter, and can box and move as well. If Martinez beat Ward it would be a huge statement. Hey this Martinez is a real pound for pound guy, he is the real deal. In hindsight Paul Williams isn't that great of a win, and Williams is his claim to fame. Going further, Martinez refuses to fight the best opponents at Middleweight, which would be Golovkin, Pirog etc., not Macklin, Barker, Williams or Dzinziruk. Ward would be a huge statement for Martinez.

 

I say beating Floyd is more impressive and a better win just for the fact that floyd is a first ballot future hall of fame fighter. He's already won a title at 154, he'll probably win another one on May 5th(proving he's a quality fighter in the weight division) and he's been dominating the sport for a decade without losing a single fight and winning championship belt in 5 different weight classes. As difficult as Andre Ward may be to beat, he's just starting out his career and legacy, if he loses now to Sergio it just won't hold the same weight as Floyd losing his frist pro fight to Sergio.

 

he wouldn't beat either but I still think a win over Floyd is the Bigger Win
