BIBA have made a new scanning device to help detect bleeding on the brain for fighters in the case of them suffering headaches. However the organisation is not being received well by the BBC who have stated they do not acknowledge BIBA, as they argue that the fighters can come to them any time for a scan. However I would argue that the fighters need protecting from themselves and they would more often than not dismiss things such as a headache or a niggle. I believe routine scans could well have Saved Mike Towell's life, as if they detected he was suffering from swelling he would have been prevented from taking the next fight that ended his life. With Nick Blackwell, I do not know, for he is a victim of his own stupidity. Maybe the ringside doctors could have the scanners at hand during a fight for when they pull a fighter to the side when they are taking too much damage, so to be sure there isn't going to be long term repercussions if they continue to fight against their better judgement.
