I can't stand Burdis, he sounds in pain when he introduces them . I suppose this would be the best time to face Groves when he is still relatively inexperienced but saying that he's already proved himself and his great talents. There's more for Smith to lose than gain with this fight imo, the world ranking plus belt etc
Haha.... he is pretty poor, they need an MC with his own personality rather than a load of Buffer/Lennon jr wannabes. Outside of fighting Magee or getting a title fight it's the most logical, though it is a lose-lose situation for him - the other fighters at 168 either aren't that good, have already been beat by someone else or aren't ready. I actually think Groves takes him out inside ten rounds.... he's the best prospect we've had in years IMO.
I think Groves would stop him as well, unfortunately. From his point of view, this would be a great fight. A good chance of unifying the belts against a very good domestic fighter and more bargain power for a figth with DeGale. This US fight seems pretty useless for me except for a small amount of american exposure and 1 with Dilks for example as bad cos he's a class above
Agree with all that. Though I do think the US fight is a good idea, get him boxing in front of an unfamiliar audience..... though the opponent is probably better than the record suggests. Reading between the lines he's probably good enough to teach most non top 5 domestic lads a lesson. The Dilks fight isn't one I'd pursue, Dilks is decent but isn't long removed from going struggling like hell with Adamu (regardless of the decision) whereas Groves tore him apart. Put him in with Jeffries
:think Jeffries-Dilks would be a very good fight, especially considering what jeffries has been 'tested' with recently. You forget sometimes how many supermiddleweigt prospects there are in Britain
I think Dilks would beat Jeffries, not sure whether he'd stop him. Nathan King would have stopped Jeffries over 8 rounds, even though he's not a puncher..... if Dilks doesn't mind walking through a few a stoppage isn't out of the question. There are too many prospects, I agree - this one would be a good match to make.... would either relegate Dilks to domestic contender level permanently or give Jeffries a major kick up the arse that he needs.
**** off mate. He was hit with a big shot in the 5th round (and the commentators blew the effects of it out of proportion), and arguably won the 6th. There was absolutely no indication that Jeffries wouldn't have been able to go another 2 rounds that night.
This content is protected Side effects can include blurred vision and forgetfulness :good ------------------------------------------- To be honest I did think Jeffries was quite badly hurt and lost the last two rounds. If King really put the foot down I wouldn't have ruled it out. Each to their own like.
Jeffries, dilks etc would lose to groves. Not saying groves wouldnt have a chance against smith, but i cant see him winning right now. I think the fight to be made to be honest if grove v degale before either of them move on to bigger and better things
Smigga fighting Mcdermott, venue and date TBA. Hoped for better, but a fight's a fight at the end of the day.
Mcdermott got sparked by Barker down at middleweight didn't he, so i presume he was struggling to make middleweight and moved up. Smigga, too strong, will TKO him somewhere 6-9th round. TAKE IT TO THE MOTHER****ING BANK
well done. he will win a fight agaisnt someone he should have been fighting 3 years ago. your hero sucks mate!
He called them all out 3 years ago Rob, including Mcdermott. Do you seriously think Smith hand picked Mcdermott as his next fight??
Not a good fight. So many other decent fights that could be made. Agree with you though Avid, Smith TKO. If it's in Liverpool then the tickets best be cheap!
