An "embarrassed" Enzo Maccarinelli says he is planning a rematch with Ola Afolabi after Saturday's shock defeat.
"As soon as the fight finished I asked him about the rematch straight away," he said of his nine-round loss.
"With the David Haye [loss last year] there was always a chance one of us would get caught cleanly. I can come to terms with that.
"This one I can't because if we boxed a million times he'd only beat me that once. I'm embarrassed with my display."

Afolabi, 28, has a record of 14 wins, one defeat and three draws, all of his previous fights having been in the US, where he is based.
Maccarinelli, 28, held the WBO belt from 2006, but lost it when he was knocked out by David Haye in two rounds last March.
The Swansea fighter - who has a record of 29 wins (22 knock-outs) and three defeats - is desperate to become the first Welshman to reclaim a world title.
"[Afolabi] agreed [to a rematch], whether it happens is a different thing," said Maccarinelli of his MEN Arena defeat. "That is the only thing that's going to make my head feel right at the moment."

I hope he gets it for his sake! Can't see Afolabi taking it with a world title shot in the offing. Perhaps if he loses to ramirez, or even wins, he'll go for the rematch?

Eitherway Enzo needs to move on quickly...Maybe look to fight again in the summer...

I was gutted for him on Saturday.I hope Enz gets a rematch he has been treated badly since the Haye defeat, the way Banks pissed him about then got the Adamek fight was a disgrace and i feel lack of motivation played some part in what happend on Saturday to Enzo.Enz put everything on the line against Haye in a fight where he knew he would most likley be outgunned by a bigger man,he deserved an imidiate chance to regain a world title not a load of fighters who would not have the balls to challange Haye getting a shot ahead of him.
I hope Enzo gets the rematch and i hope he stays at Newbridge,if beating Enz gets Afolabi a world title shot i wont be at all suprised and neither will i be suprised when he gets knocked out or stopped quickly. He fought an under motivated under prepared Enzo who was trying too hard to please the crowd and press on Saturday.Enzo is a nice guy and a good fighter i hope he is back to his best soon.

I think Enzo overestimates his own power, and fighting Ellis didn't help that.

He could have won his last fight over 12.

By the time he got KO'ed, he'd become sloppy. That was through tiredness - from throwing power shots, trying to get the guy out of there - all the time.

yes Macca may be a very decent guy but lets face it, he was getting way overhyped with a massively padded record and egg chin. He has also been one of the worst for talking up obviously shite opponents, that is annoying as **** for us proper boxing fans who know the score.
He gets sparked again in a rematch.

Ramirez would beat Afolabi I reckon. No doubt.

Then I could see a rematch.

Enzo should just avoid Alfa and get a title shot by beating a few bums the same way Dunne has gone about his business.

H would comfortably win a rematch but somehow I just don't see it happening.
