I also opt for Duran. For the very reasons that many of you mention.

Duran/Leonard over Leonard/Hagler, for the simple fact that Hagler was faded when leonard got to him.Duran was probably slightly after his peak when he faced a pre-prime Leonard.

One was a clear cut decision, while the other was a very debateable decision. I still believe Hagler won the fight. But props to Sugar Ray for making it so close.

    Leonard/Hagler

Hagler was regarded as the p4p best when Leonard beat him having only 1 fight in 5 1/2 yrs & 0 fights in 3 yrs.... at least Duran was in his prime & had grown into the WW class in the previous 2 yrs since leaving 135.

Leonard's a better fighter than Hagler, was in his prime, and was beaten far more decisively. There's a clear gap between the two wins in my mind.

Duran - Leonard , not even close.

The Leonard lovers try to slowly move Leonarde above Duran in the P4P rankings, but it will never happen.

Was Leonard even thought of that highly when Duran beat him? If there was a General Forum back then we'd have the following thread titles: 'Leonard: Exposed I told you he had no heart' 'Leonard: what a hypejob'.

Its funny if you look at the top trainers of the time they composed LW top10 lists and didn't rate Duran particularly high on them

It seems this win has become greater with time because of what Leonard went onto achieve.

Hagler was established as a great champion before Leonard fought him. Leonard was coming off a 3year hiatus and 6years since he faced a really top opponent, plus he looked poor in his last fight and had never fought at middleweight before. That alone makes it a monumental comeback

Some say 'Hagler was past prime' but no one was saying that at the time, everyone thought Hagler would destroy Leonard. Yes Hagler probably had lost a step, but was at his mental peak whereas the Leonard Duran faced was immature and not as ring savy as he would become after that defeat.

    I'd solidly go with Leonard-Hagler
