Semifinal #1 - Borislav Vujanovic vs. Fabrice Aurieng, 3 rounds @ heavyweight

 

Round 1

Vujanovic is lumbering in and out with his left jab looking to penetrate up top, but Aurieng is keeping him at the end of the right jab, unrolling it like a long tentacle and sliding out to create distance. Quick left hand counter by Aurieng, dropping Vujanovic. He gets up, laughing dismissively. Fast right jab by Aurieng, rapping against Vujanovic's nose. Big 1-2 by Aurieng. Vujanovic is down again, rolling over to push himself up to all fours. Smoger counts in his face and looks closely at him. Vujanovic has one more chance. Aurieng lunges with a jab, parried by Vujanovic's left as he cranes his neck to one side and moves offline. They trade crosses at the same time and collide in midair, both recoiling.

Aurieng literally wiped the smile off Vujanovic's face. :deal

Round 2

Vujanovic comes bursting off the ropes with an overhand right and falls down on his face as Aurieng rolls away in a low bend. Aurieng is clubbing Vujanovic with the left hand and knocks him to the ground with a blow to the back as Vujanovic is trying to hold. Smoger rules it not to be a knockdown. Aurieng jabs over Vujanovic's head and then resets with his feet planted firmly as Vujanovic comes lunging at him with a high right hand missing wide. They hug involuntarily and Smoger pushes them apart. More clubbing lefts to the back and top of the head by Aurieng, Vujanovic hooking at his body and then encircling it with his arms. Again Vujanovic is clubbed to the ground by a left while bending forward, and once more Smoger rules it not a knockdown. 1-2s by Aurieng up close, scrubbing along Vujanovic's back and not landing cleanly. Vujanovic falls to his knees, exhausted. Smoger waves it off, basically determining that Vujanovic doesn't want to fight.

Semifinal #2 - Ionut Patriche vs. Mario Jagatic, 3 rounds @ heavyweight

 

I hope so. It would be a shame to see a stylist like Aurieng lose to a mindless brawler from MMA like Jagatic.

He is quite a bit smaller and does have two KO losses in his pro boxing career, however - including one to Kyotaro Fujimoto who crossed over from K1. :think :err

 

Round 1

They are slugging in center ring in the opening moments! Jagatic is throwing short overhand right leads and following with very wide left hooks. Right hooks to round it out as three punch combos added by Jagatic Patriche takes aim looking to find a home for his right jab between Jagatic's outbursts. Patriche is circling in close with the inner part of his forearms clamped tight against his face. Cross-armed defense by Patriche now, anything to keep out those crazy bombs from Jagatic. Patriche ducks low under a jab and gets clubbed with a right hand on the shoulder and neck. The ref pauses to have a cut on Patriche looked at. His entire right cheek appears to have been shredded. He is protesting the interruption and wants to continue. Time in. They trade feel-out jabs, the right of Patriche vs. the left of Jagatic. Patriche counters with a right hand from behind his tight guard and backs Jagatic up.

10-9 Jagatic again on sheer brawn, no technique.

 

Round 2

Jagatic is dropped by a quick right hand counter!! He rises slowly and Patriche comes in with big right hooks slamming down on the ear. Jagatic is down again! He looks mad, but tired. HOLY ****!! LEAPING RIGHT HAND BY JAGATIC!! He must have vaulted himself four yards to land that. Patriche rolled with it and recovers, throwing 1-2s and right hooks into Jagatic's face. Jagatic is given a standing eight count but slumps against the ropes. The ref doesn't like his posture and waves it off.

TKO2!
