Good ****. Never heard of him but going 0-18 and then winning 40 fights is an accomplishment.

Orlando Salido as @drenlou mentioned is a true Rocky Balboa story.

The guy went from being a low level Journeyman to a three time world champion.

I don't think most people know that Salido fought Marquez at 126 pounds on the De La Hoya-Hopkins undercard.

Not the biggest but hardly anyone picked Shane vs Marg. Duran and Moore?

Marquez whooped his ass. I wonder how the Salido who welcomed Loma to the pro rankings would have fared against Marquez. Probably the same, but then again Mikey was struggling a bit with him.

It would have been a different time same result.

Amir Khan after getting brutally stopped by Prescott. He went on to have a stellar career afterwards. I always thought he should have rematched Prescott though.

He may have done a little better as his confidence and self belief was higher, but once he started getting tagged with those counter combinations as he tired he would have folded again.

Jmm would have been alot better as well. Maybe Salido would have done a little better but I think he would have still lost a wide decision.

For sure. JMMs IQ was too much for Salido, but JMMs Mexican machismo would have allowed Salido to land some unnecessary leather too.

Not strictly a boxing 'comeback ' (even though he did lose his first pro bout), more a life comeback... I was always impressed with Bernard Hopkins.
As mentioned previously, Foreman has to be up there - and Glen Johnson for overcoming the journeyman tag and becoming the man at LH for a time.

Johnny Nelson and Anthony Crolla both had slow starts and ended up being world champions. Carl Thompson too
