That fight was a letdown, for sure. Was on in the afternoon here and I scrambled to get my training and errands done that morning in order to be back for the 1PM, maybe 2 PM start time. By the third round I was starting to pick up around the house and get ready to go to out. Don't remember even finishing the bout. But, there was no way of knowing that in the buildup. You must have had a few weeks of heightened expectation leading up to the bout.
The biggest fights I attended were Lennox Lewis vs David Tua (which included Cliff Etienne vs Lawrence Clay-Bey), Lamon Brewster vs Andrew Golota (the whole card was great and included Tomasz Adamek-Paul Briggs), Hasim Rahman vs Monte Barrett (which included a Ricardo Mayorga title fight), Fernando Vargas vs Javier Castillejo (which included Rocky Juarez vs Humberto Soto), Devon Alexander vs. Lucas Matthysse (which included Bermane Stiverne-Ray Austin and Tavoris Cloud-Yusaf Mack) ... those probably included the most title fights. Many other smaller cards.
best atmosphere mcguigan v pedroza i was with mates on shepards bush green along with about another 300 fans 8 hours before the fight even took place most bleak-wembley arena for numerous fights honeyghan v vaca it was just all long walks and concrete good view from the upstairs balcony though biggest crowd coldest boxing event in the history of the sport lewis v bruno cardiff we travelled from london took 5 hours / it was allright early in the night but then it turned absolutly freezing / and it was only october from memory 1993 approx made me 27 most probably the reason i never wore enough clothes / me with my mullet and fashion / now i would just wrap up like the michelin man. but my favourite arena was the smallest york hall 3 miles from my house/could park right outside for free £10 entry once watched frankie randall fight edwin rosario both unbeaten in a barn burner of a fight and all my mates who i went with were casuals and did not understand who or what they were watching. and we watched from about 20 feet away / york hall balcony seats are like being in the ring .
