I am sitting in an internet cafe in Quezon City writing this, after a 6 month spell in the British Navy taking in 4 continents and visitng 2 war zones. You probably do not know where Quezon is though, or the fact that officialy, Bikol is the second kost spoken language behind Filipino.

Got a BA Hons in History, and humour as well sunshine, which you quite clearly do not;)

its just so interesting to me that peoples changed so much because of the dream match.... like its just really hard for me to honestly judge manny based on the oscar fight... like was he that good or was oscar that bad... theres really no way to tell....

Yeah I completely understand what you said... it goes for any boxer.

example was Cotto. Cotto was said the man to beat Mayweather, But after that Margarito now is the man to beat Floyd. But back then Margarito was a shadow of Cotto as I could remember.

In Pac's case, it's quite seen that Oscar didn't make it as a fight(even how much craps he said at 24/7) but doesn't diminish Pac was that good to make Hoya into a brutal submission at 8. We all know in our sense because Pac started at the lowest area, in boxing size does matters. We just didn't expect for Pac to be what he is right now. That's why his chances against other opponents are getting higher rather than some couple of months ago.

I still think cotto would do a better job than margarito... 80% of floyds competition has tried to just pressure him into a loss and nobody has ever succeeded... floyd is so used to fighting under pressure its clearly not the answer to beating him...

cotto is the man really he just saw a bad mismatch with margarito

and yeah i agree that his chances should be higher than before but people are saying hatton is the underdog? like is that even correct? hatton has been at this weight for most of his life and is the best @ that weight.... paq will be making his first visit there.... i think people are either giving paq to much credit or hatton to little credit... not sure

Like we both agree... Pacquiao SHOULD be the underdog... its a new state his stepping into. And Hatton IS the man of 140lbs.

It's not like they're giving less credit to Hatton, but a bit of exaggerating the win of Pac not by a whole lot though.
Just because winning against Golden Boy at 147 proves you are good at 140.

right.... and its the way he beat oscar
well the lack of oscar... when i was watching the whole time i was thinking he was throwing the fight.... i mean if you have a large handful of people assuming someone threw a fight there has to be a problem

For my own opinion though. It wasn't thrown out. My belief is that Oscar just couldn't catch Pac and was eagerly wanting the round 6 till the end to even or EVEN score a KD or KO. Oscar himself is the blame, he was trained, he was taught, he was believed but on fight night you have to show everything up to the last point.
Though Nacho and Dundee should have encouraged Hoya to go on and put up a fight. But on some round break, they seem to down Oscar by their words... "He is just too fast", "It's his speed".... You don't say that to your fighter... you encourage em that this fight is honor and glory.
For me though I wouldn't blame Hoya for taking this fight, he already earned his reputation long time ago. There's nothing to be ashamed of.
Oscar knew after round 8 that continuing will means of more punishment if he don't pull himself together. That's why he agreed on his coach advise... to stop the fight.

Ummm... that's where you're wrong. If my history serves me correctly, it's Cebuano or Bisaya that's the second most spoken language in the Philippines. And sinned is right in saying that the 2nd most spoken language in the Philippines is English as there was a case to be made for it being the actual lingua franca of the Philippines before Filipino (which was known as Pilipino) was officially made the National Language, much to the ire of the Visayans who didn't even speak Tagalog at that time. It was then enforced into the school curriculum and now we have more tagalog speakers, but nearly every Filipino student who went to school understands and can speak English if they tried.

i dont blame oscar for taking it but I definitely refuse to blame the corner... os knows what his role is as a fighter... he doesnt need his corner to "hype him up" to do it... the point is to win so corner or not the objective shouldnt change... i just saw 0 life in oscar from like round 2 on.... he looked like he thought he would just punch manny 1 time and manny would fall over... maybe he did toss it.. i dunno

Read my post again, popeye. I said english is the second language of Filipinos. I didn't say english is the second most spoken dialect behind tagalog.

Don't tell me you flunked your reading class, as well? :patsch

    P.S.
I'm a Filipino and it's Cebuano/Bisaya and not Bicol, that is the second most spoken dialect in our country. Welcome to the Philippines, mate! ;)
