Yup...The ESB members going insane over this fight are fools IMO. Advantages of Pacman fighting Oscar: -Shitload of $...Probably more than he'd make in 3 fights vs the average world class boxer -If he loses, he's too small. If he wins, he's a legend. -Pac Man isn't known outside of boxing...Now he will be, and his exciting fan pleasing style will be displayed to a bigger fan base thus growing his own fan base. Disadvantages to fighting Oscar: -ESB members don't like it. This is the perfect fight for what both fighters want. It will also be an exciting entertaining fight which is expected to be competitive. So all u nuts going crazy over how this fight is ruining boxing should take a look at it from a fighter's persective and also take a look at how this fight would turn out...It will be action packed
Not really pointless, could do a lot for Pacquiao in the long run if he wins and would be looked at as a great impressive win. Moving all the way up to 147 from 135 and beating a fighter not many gave him a chance in is a great win. I wonder what title will they be fighting for?, WBF?
theres nothing wrong with fighting for 2 belts in 2 weight divisions at once. If i am a fighter who weighs in at 165lbs, and I fight the SMW champ and win, and then fight the LHW champ and win again, then I am the SMw and LHW champ. If another fighter comes along who weighs 165 lbs just like me and we fight, then we are fighting for both the SMW and LHW titles. Makes sense. btw I thought Roy Jones vs Tito Trinidad was a bigger joke than this
The thread should have been closed after this perfect post, the treatment of the Brown Bomber by racist America was indeed the biggest travesty in boxing. Uncle Sam should still quiver in his boots at the very mention of Joe Louis. Absolutely ****ing disgusting the way that man ended up. He should have been a national hero, instead he was a side-show. Sickening.
That much is true too, but Ali should have tossed old Joe a bone while he was making his fortunes, if you ask me. I loved Ali but he constantly insulted Louis when he should have been helping the guy.
Ali being stripped of his title and being banned from boxing during the prime of his career. The Joe Louis story. That man deserved better. If I had to say one over the other, I'd say the Joe Louis issue is the worst travesty in boxing history. That was a great great champion who gave up a lot for his country. What he had to deal with later in his life is really sad, but also heroic on Joe Louis's part.
Just shows that belt means nothing...can always be manipulated. What's relevant is the excitement/entertainment a fan can get from the boxers. Isn't it the reason fans view/watch fights - to get entertained? F**K the belts...
