    Barrera v Jnr Jones

Barrera looked unbeatable and was being called the next Julio Cesar Chavez.

With your imagination you should work in Hollywood writing film scripts. Your penchant for fantasy is amazing.

Try getting this through your imaginative skull.

No one from the Tszyu camp including Kostya himself, did at the time, or has ever done since, complain about dirty tactics. So your opinion on the subject is worthless.

Now here is something for you to really get your teeth into. The only problem in that fight was a perfectly legitimate body shot from the Aussie / Russian that had Hatton down for at least 25 seconds was wrongly ruled a foul by Dave Parris.

That, and only that is what leaves a sour taste to that fight.

Your typical yank anti British garbage just makes look an idiot, even allowing for your revisionist fantasising.:yep

To be fair I don't think it was that much of an upset, just Ray's ignorance of the man.

I think you will find Ray was on the road with his Vaudeville act at the time with him being the tap dancer. The fights were just fought to help pay for it. I think Randy's people asked for a title fight, and Ray not knowing too much about Turpin was confident enough to agree. Obviously Turpin had trained like never before and got the decision.

The much more realistic version happened 90 days later in the rematch.

Oh yeah, Britain was the last venue on this whistle stop tour of Europe, before Ray sailed back to New York. I think he appeared at the London Palladium, but I'm not too sure.

This is what makes me laugh about the soppy Jones Jr fanboys they claim he is some kind of god because he played basketball and boxed, yet SRR was touring with a big troop of Vaudeville performers working most nights, and fighting once a month at the same time.

it sounded like you were talking about hopkins vs trinadad when pappa trinadad had to cut through the cast on baby trinadads left hand and rewrap
