In a one-off fight, as it was with Louis, he could have tripped up any of the fighters listed. Remember, he only has to be better for one particular night, not any night. And sure, he was easily good enough to beat any of these guys on his best night and their not-so-best night. If you don't understand that, you don't understand boxing... and sports in general.
Good lord kid...Spinks didnt beat Holmes? You are in total denial of the real world. Your whole life is make believe and making things up!
He finds it easier to use the 17 year old version of Conn rather than the one who gave Joe Louis a great fight. Sad.
Any REAL: boxing student of the game can see Holmes was robbed TWICE! you are incapable of this .:nut
You can use ANY version of Conn you imbecile, Witherspoon still has the better resume .atsch still waiting on where Conn is ranked in 91 in your world? Is he over Ruddock? Can he go 19 rounds with Tyson or withstand bulldozer Foreman, perhaps elite Holyfield who was on fire then? :nut
I see nothing on film that tells me he would beat any of these guys on there worst day, maybe a Ruddock asthma attack but that's about it,practically anyone he fought other than Louis had less than a 40% k.o record...is he knocking these guys out because hes not out boxing them before getting k.od that's for sure.:scaredas:
Any real fan of the sport knows both fights were close. It wasnt like Chavez-Whitaker, that was a robbery. In fact any real student of the sport can check the punch stats from the second fight and see Spinks outlanded Holmes and at a better percentage. Of course you're not a real student of the sport so you dont know this. And again it goes directly against you theories that size means more than skill, as I have given you numerous examples that prove you wrong. Nice try though son. Some of us actually watch the fights and check the stats before opening our mouths. LMAO!!
The point wasn't if it was close"IT WASNT IF YOU KNOW HOW TO JUDGE" it was did you think holmes lost? Im assuming you do since you are azz backwards at everything and you probably think he did TWICE? I don't have to check made up punch stats I can see what picked off shots are and ones that actually LAND.One can simply count themselves without commentator interference ,its called studying film footage and knowing what to score. Still waiting on where Conn is ranked,i guess you got smart and don't want to be made the fool here..What does Holmes weighing 223 to Vitalis 250 have to do with anything anyway since that's the argument you still cant win?Remember not wanting to be the fool here?.ooops to late. :good
Let me get this straight. You know more than Eddie Futch, boxing historians AND boxing judges? Why is it you are posting here instead of working a noted fighters corner or commentating for HBO? :huh
I don't have to know more than anyone, most of the boxing world including the newspapers called it a robbery, including the thread on this site of the majority of posters who can see with both eyes or even one eye .They called it a robbery Because it WAS yet you CLAIM to follow the sport but its one of the worst decisions in history?.atsch Why isn't everyone a cornerman here, why aren't you one?anything else dumb to add? :yep
A robbery isnt a fight that is razor thin, but one guy dominating and losing on the cards. You cant say that about either fight. For the record, I think the series should have been split, but neither was a robbery. As far as your question about me? Im not the one claiming to know more the lumaneries of the sport. I can disagree with something without thinking Im smarter about such things than people who are much more involved in the sport than myself. You on the other hand.....:think
No but a fight where the other guy MAYBE won 4 rounds it is,isnt it? you are even trying to sell me holmes outweighing Spinks by 20 pounds is relevant to Vitali out weioghing Frazier by 40 pounds by throwing in the SIZE argument still, sorry still irrelevant and off topic here. You still haven't ranked Conn and avoid the actual thread topic now...
https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Evander_Holyfield Here's Holyfield claiming he was in the 140's when he graduated high school. http://www.greatertalent.com/EvanderHolyfield/ At 16 Holyfield was Southeastern Region Champion at 139 pounds. So I think you misspoke.
