My father in law had his wheels nicked by gyppo's earlier in the week. No place in society for these scum.

My brother played against the Huddersfield youth side quite a few times. His age group would be u18 now. They had a huge black kid up front. Brilliant player, wonder how he is doing.

I think I have seen him myself.

The lad I know is called Dan Broadbent - striker/winger. Strong lad with real acceleration and a powerful shot.

I have seen the Leeds youth team play recently, the striker Tom Elliott is the worst player I have ever seen in a Leeds shirt. Even worse than Roque jr and Zoumana Camara.

I think it was against West Ham he scored a couple of goals and looked half decent.

It would be fair to say that he was the biggest disappointment we have had, bearing in mind his previous form and price tag at the time.

Seth Johnson runs him close though, a total wheelie bin costing £9m plus £40k a week. It was 'take it or leave it' apparently. No doubt he and his agent had to go for a **** prior to signing the deal.

To be fair, according to Peter Ridsdale, Seth was a better prospect than Frank Lampard. Now - I am no great fan of Lampard, but only a fool would have said that.

Na Seth J did actually look quite good when he was at Crewe and then Derby. Worst deal has got to be selling Cantona for peanuts to Man U.

Was it not Seth Johnson who agreed with his agent 'No less than £25k a week' or something - they walked in to meet Ridsdale and he opened up with '£40k, final offer'...

Numbers might be a bit out but the moral is the same

    Ridsdale had gone nuts

    Bad Leeds Utd deals......

    1. Selling Cantona for £1m (1992)
    2. Buying Robbie Fowler and Robbie Keane for £12m each (2002)
    3. Selling Fowler and Keane for peanuts and paying half their wages for 4 years (2003)
    4. Sacking managers every ten minutes

    Great Leeds deals....

    1. Selling Woodgate for £9m (2003) - in hindsight only with injury troubles
    2. Buying Gordon Strachan for £300k (1989)

    That's about it!

Na apparently Seth J was ready to accept less than 15K a week till Ridsdale opened his big mouth.

I learned from a reliable source (the secretary to the Commercial Director at the time) that Seth had gone in their with the ambition of doubling his wages, which were £10k at the time. He was apparently willing to negotiate as he really fancied the move, as Leeds were seemingly on the up at the time.

The first thing Peter Ridsdale said (even before asking them if they wanted tea and biccies) was: 'No messing about, haven't got time for that..... £37k a week - take it or leave it'

Obviously player and agent looked at each other and decided it was in their best interests, though in hindsight the move totally ruined his career. Leeds fans aren't particularly fickle IMO - but are very demanding of their players, especially one who was signed instead of Frank Lampard for pretty much the same money.

Whether we would have gotten Lampard is a different story, but he was clearly a player with huge potential in need of a bit of firm guidance, rather than Johnson who appeared average to me at best.

I doubt fat Frankie Lampard would have not done any better than Seth.
