I wrote barerra off after ward destroyed him but he seriously made an impact after that beating shabanskyy, smith and valera. Bivol toyed with him then knocked him out. Guys, bivol is no joke. He might be better than kovalev
Ward hasn't returned. What if Stevenson loses to Jack? Would you rate Jack over Barrera? Bivol, Kovalev and Gvozdyk, yes. That isn't 5 though. It's 3. And even if you include Ward and Stevenson it means you could have Barrera 6th which kind of undermines your point that he's miles away from top 5 or whatever. You should've come correct with more names (jk there aren't more names that you credibly could've ...painted yourself into a corner there )
you can't count a retired fighter.... loland Gvozdyk hasn't beaten anyone to be considered better then barrera. -.-
Only his 13th fight, making a big step up in class, against a very good and much more experienced opponent who also looked a lot bigger than him to me. And Barrera is a better fighter now than the one Ward fought and he's a dangerous well-schooled and hard punching customer. I knew Bivol's hand and foot speed, athleticism, and excellent footwork would cause Barrera big problems, but I was a little worried about Barrera's size and advantage in experience. Barrera's a good counter puncher but Bivol's speed of foot, reflexes and ring IQ nullified a lot of his attacks. I don't know what their respective weights were tonight but the only recorded fight night weight of Bivol's I'm aware of is 180, so if he was as low as that again tonight he's more a natural SMW than LHW, IMO. Barrera and Ward both weighed 186 when they fought each other. This content is protected Bivol's foot work is one of his greatest assets, IMO. Kevin Newman was impressed by it when he sparred him recently This content is protected I like the way he uses his feet to get off the ropes here and gets himself back into a position of control 0:08-0:20 This content is protected
someone said it, must be the other guy responding to me saying he isn't top five. i apologise for mixing you up. just checked, Forza said it.
I totally disagree that slow as molasses Barrera is the second best 175 pounder in the world, but Bivol looked really good in there. I was impressed.
