When comparing grapplers , you dont compare grappling in MMA , you compare what they have acheived in grappling not MMA In his relatively short grappling career BJ Penn became a black belt in 3 years under the renound Nova Uniao team and won the national championships as a complete novice black belt (in fact he entered as a brown belt and Nova Uniao had a grapple off to see who would enter from there team in there respected classes , BJ submitted there #1 black belt @125 lbs hence BJ was then awarded a black belt and entered the tournament as so) , as well as being a decorated Ralph Gracie student !!! If Penn continued his career in JJ he would be mentioned in the same breath as people like Ricardo Liborio today :deal Aoki is not and never has been at that sort of level in grappling terms Look mate , your an Aoki fan we get it !!! ........................... :good
And I get it too, BJ is an ATG grappler, but I was talking about the type of grappling they can bring to MMA.
It just comes down to whoever impliments their game the best. Makes the person fight their fight, throw the other guy off his game. But Honestly Bj could Ko this guy in the first exchange. Cant say the same for Aoki.
