Are you saying Williams would say no to this fight?

I think in both cases, it points to a bigger problem that should be addressed:

    Overreaching Contracts

There should be limits imposed by the state boxing/athletic commissions and boxing organizations on the types of stipulations that are allowed in a contract for a fight sanctioned by that commission. They should add a rule prohibiting fighters from negotiating points that either contradict or modify rules and regulations already in place by the commission. If a commission has established that the welterweight limit is 147, then fighters should not be able to stipulate a lower limit. If a commision has established protocols for drug testing, then fighters should be be able to require separate testing. If a commission states that weigh in's must be done the day before, then fighters should not be allowed to require same day weigh in's.

Contract stipulations have really gone out of control, and I think commissions and organizations could really do the sport a favor by standardizing on more points and giving promoters/boxers less say in contracts.

Im saying that Williams would have to say no to the fight because of the cuts he got in his last fight. Im saying that if there was a chance that Williams could be ready for the date we would be hearing from his camp.

Williams will fight anyone, which I think he has shown. But cuts are cuts and they need time to heal. Williams will be on the shelf until may at least. If floyd was going to wait that long, the I would expect him to fight Mosley who will knockout Berto Im sure.

You make some great points. The problem is States wont risk losing 40, 50 million dollar fights based on a fighter wanting a guy to come in a few pounds lighter. If the fighter is really sticking to that point then they will just go somewhere that they will be allowed to do it.

Boxing needs ONE body, that is were the problem is. Too many rules in different places. The bodies that are in boxing today dont give a **** about anything other then money, and they will back whatever the fighters want to do as long as they get paid.

Wow, Clottey is a "big" Welterweight.........

......to ask him to come down to 144 lbs and then have the audacity afterward to call yourself the Welterweight champ of the world just seems beyond fake to me.

The Pacquiao camp which now includes what I would call that clown in Freddie Roach, was complaining that they would not allow Mayweather to dictate to boxing what tests its fighters should take......

......but here is a clown or clowns in that Pac team who want to dictate weight limits in each division they step into.
Wasnt it these same clowns who were yapping about stepping up to 154 lbs and another weight class for Manny Pacroid to conquer?????????

Just a few days ago they were talking about moving up in weight........now that they're on to them on how its been possible for Pacquiao to move up in weight, now they want Clottey to move down in weight??????
........how the hell can anyone justify Pacquiao asking fighters to really physically deplete themselves, when Manny himself has bogused excused himself from the Mayweather fight because to even his own admission, the blood tests will not effect him physically, but mentally.:rofl:rofl:rofl:rofl:rofl

What Pacroid is essentially saying is that "I dont want to be effected mentally by not being roided up for Mayweather.......but I do want Clottey to be physically depleted if he is to have the honor of stepping in the ring with Manny Pacroid."
:lol::lol::lol:Its sounds like its coming out of a comic book, but the sad part is that my assertions in my post here are the truth.......and as usual with a Pacquiao scenario because its sounds like something out of a comic book, its both funny and sad at the same time.:-(

So by your own logic what would be the problem in Floyd fighting someone other then Shane in March and then fighting him in November???

Your one of those guys that is always looking for an angle to bash Floyd. 99% of the time is just pure hatered with little thought involved.

    I'm not pro pacquiao.
    I am anti-mayweather.

Pay attention to my posts before you start calling me out on them.

Thats cause you dont have thoughts of your own,you take whatever fraud says as the gospel truth.

whats the point in fighting some scrub in march that wouldnt add anything to your legacy when you can wait and fight the top guy at welter a couple of months later.

He should fight the Mosley-Berto winner in May and then try to make a fight with Pac at the end of the year but im sure that a nutthugger like you would rather see him fight some scrub like Paulie or Campbell.

Keep protecting that "0" you're doing a great job.
