Let's wait and see what fight is signed before jumping to conclusions. No way would HBO accept Bailey IMO.

Berto gets criticized heavily around here but his last 4 fights have been against fairly solid competition. He needs to take another jump and fight an elite fighter but nobody appears to be too eager to get in the ring with him.

He signed to fight Mosley and backed out ($$$) so that Mosley would be free to fight Mayweather.

He's tried to get Cotto but Arum isn't interested in that and he gave what Arum himself said was the best offer for the Pacquiao fight and he was denied.

He's a casualty of the ****ed up political situation in boxing more than anything right now.

Don't forget, HBO played hardball with Golden Boy and Khan last year and insisted that Khan fight Maidana or else they wouldn't be interested in working with him. Khan and Golden Boy gave in, we got one of the best fights of the year, and Khan's bigger than ever.

    BULL****

since fighting collazo bertHOE resorted to fighting bums and b level fighters.

cintron has got a hard on to fight him, collazo is looking for a rematch, clottey is there, angulo, kirkland, paul williams, selcuk aydin, zab judah

berthoe wants none of them, he is happy holding onto his paper title and pretending to be champion.

Clottey is not "there"; he's been sitting on his ass since the Pac fight enjoying the little money that he made. Angulo, Kirkland and Williams do not fight in the same division; neither does Cintron but even if he was willing to move down to WW, what happened during his last fight? Do you believe that HBO wants to work with him again?

Aydin's opposition makes Berto's resume look like Duran's.

    Judah? LMFAO

Collazo rematch fine but he hasn't fought in a year and a half, either.

Stop the hate and let's see what Berto does this year :good

Williams doesn't fight in the same division but has constantly said he is willing to go down and stay at welterweight. Its what Williams wants to be closer to a Pac or Mayweather fight.

HBO did not reject Cotto/Mayorga it's just that the date was already guaranteed for Martinez/Dzinzi. They didn't take the date away from Arum they just refused to take the date away from Dibella.

**** Bob, he burnt his own bridges by being a douchebag. Nobody gives a rats ass about Cotto-Mayorga. Great we get to see a guy still trying to use his wins over a badly injured Vernon Forrest from 8 years ago against a guy who won his strap off a nobody. Give us Williams-Cotto Bob or Martinez-Cotto, or any other match up that has actual relevance.

HBO offered $3M for a berto-Cotto fight, of which $1.85M would go to Berto's purse. Biggest BS coming from Haymon and HBO. Berto is an undercard fighter and a small casino headliner at best. Cotto could sell out Madison Square Garden and draw a crowd of 40K to Yankee Stadium. Berto should be lucky to get 30% of Cotto's purse. but HBO spoiled Berto too much paying him millions while fighting bums. Him and the likes of Chad Dawson who could barely sell a thousand tickets in some Casino and could barely finish a fight without knocking out the audience with boredom lol. yet they get superstar treatment from HBO and available tv dates whenever they like to fight. Why? because HBO dreams of building the next Sugar Ray Leonard or Ali who could enthrall the masses with their slick skills and american swag. They tried it with Jermain Taylor but Taylor lacked the talent. They see potential in Berto and Dawson, lol despite Berto being a Collazo-level fighter and Dawson being a limp-wristed one hit wonder lol. Thanks to Kotelnik exposing Alexander so early or else HBO would have been mislead to giving him superstar treatment as well

Now good luck to HBO and i hope they make the best out of Berto. They should match him up with Amir Khan since Amir is one of the few left in HBO with true star potential (that is before he gets knocked out). Cotto, Pac, Marg, Clottey, Lopez, Gamboa, DOnaire etc are a big loss to HBO and a great gain for showtime.

so basically you dont want berthoe to fight anyone right?

he said he was willing to fight cotto at 154 so why not the others?

he started pro at 160 and fought in the olympics at 165.

oh and aydin is roberto duran compared to the last home depot employee berthoe beat.

it was the same with the Kotelnik-Alexander fight.

Lederman is spouting pish that Alexander is winning the fight wide, whilst Kellerman and Co are sitting there with a "wtf?" tone of voice but didn't actually pull him up!

I still find it baffiling how HBO put Mosley Vs Mora as PPV but won't pay the money to promote a Cotto-Vanes fight, which would be a high ratings draw especially if the fights done at Madison Square Garden or Yankee Stadium. I tend to agree with Arum when you look back at some of the fights that HBO have shown and paid good money for, i.e Mosley-Mora, Berto's last fight costing a million dollars.

Haymon demanded 1.85 to bid his ***** berto out of the fight which he knows Berto will be knocked out by Cotto. it's a total mismatch.
