If nothong else styles would seem to dictate the outcome here and Boilermaker made some very good points. Unfortunately for Fitz his style is all wrong for Vlad. Fitz was a stand up straight/leaning back fighter who held his hands low and that spells trouble against a fighter who likes to fight from a distance and control range like Vlad. Vlad is taller, heavier, and technically more proficient than Fitz. He utilizes a very good jab as well and a good right hand also. Fitz was hurt on more than 1 ocassion against Corbett in thier battle and Jim was a hell of alot smaller than Klitschko. If Corbett could reach Fitz and hurt him, I'm pretty sure Vlad could too. Like Boilermaker pointed out the type of fighters from the past with the best chance of getting Vlad would be the crowders...bob and weave or crouch and get underneath ala Dempsey, Frazier and Marciano. Fitz isn't that type of fighter. And say what you want about Vlad but the fact is he is a good, though not great fighter and he is big and knows how to use his size to his advantage...Thanks in part to having a very good trainer in Emmanuel Steward. All of these factors I feel make it unlikely someone the size and style of Fitzsimmons could take him. Impossible? No...Unlikely?...Yes.

Wlad in the mid rounds. Fitz could not match his size, skills, and footwork.

Wlad inside 5. I consider Fitz a phenom in the pound for pound sense. But as a modern heavyweight he is a fish out of water and would get beaten unmercifully.

Boil wlad down to mw and fitz murders him.

But fitz would be giving away 80 pounds to a man I believe is a greater heavyweight anyway.

Wlad is currently enjoying a 5 year reign that doesn't look to end any time soon. Already he's top 15 in my book. Fitz is top 30.

Jeffries proved too big and wlad would the same. 4th round mercy stoppable.

Side question, how many Ring Magazine Heavyweights made it to #5 or lower on the pound for pound list?

Fitz was a far better pound for pound boxer but simply too small for Wlad ... we all know Wlad's flaws but he is still too big and too good for most men in history ... he has developed a chess master's style and only certain men possess the tools to defeat him ...

It's your statement that is ridiculous ....

Fitz defeated much larger men in multiple weight divisions ... Wlad wins because of mastering a style that maximizes his huge size advantages and avoids almost all risk of having his china chin dented ... that is not Klit hated but fact ...

Wlad has defended his version of the alphabet title ten times ... does that make him one of the top three or four heavyweights of all time by your standards ? Was Burns better since he defended the title more ? :blood

NONE of those men defended the WBO title. Only god-king Volodymyr the mighty destroyer has, let alone holding this prestigious record for WBO title defenses at heavyweight, FYI. Why must you cling to the past? Desperation? Racism? Religiosity? Immaculocamericentricity? Does it make you feel like more of a man? :patsch This is truly sad and an utter joke as a defense of your prejudiced position. Reported.

    Wlad KO 1.

Fitzsimmons is too primitive. Boxing in 1900 consisted of headbutts and poking the opponent in the chest with your chin. The concept of moving one's head out of the way of a punch didn't even exist until Jack Dempsey, who used it to duck challengers.

I have been impressed with pre-modern fighters quite a bit, but Fitzsimmons is NOT one of them... He looks terrible in the Corbett film, with literally zero defense and no impressive offense.

He has nothing to offer Wlad. He'd never even lay a glove on him. Wlad, being who he is, wins every second of every round, despite still getting panicky and skittish whenever Fitz does rush in with one huge punch at a time, and takes a decision.

Correction: Wlad may accidentally or incidentally KO Fitz, but not because he's going for it.

Do you even understand his point because other than be obnoxious I have no idea of what he is trying to accomplish ... is there really any argument over the fact that pound for pound Fitz was superior or than Wlad has a weak chin ?

That's exactly it, he's just trying to be obnoxious, imitating the klitschko and eastern european fanbases. Bit of a funny parody coupled with a Shumenov avatar in my opinion
