Bold Prediction - Matchroom and Queensbury to Merge.

I don't see it happening, but then again Hearn has always said he wants to get out of the game at 50, Frank is getting old, not sure if he wants to be the UK's version of Bob Arum working in his 80's. If the Saudis came up with a huge offer for the companies, but giving Warren and Hearn shares and senior positions to people like George and Francis Warren as well as Frank Smith, maybe that's a possibility.

 

Matchroom is a pretty tangled web where Hearn has talked about building and exiting a 5 billion company.

If the whole DAZN / Saudi takeover of boxing actually worked, and Matchroom came out with a stake in it and Matchroom Media with some kind of global TV rights deal attached, maybe he wouldn't be far off. And then of course other Matchroom businesses then do deals in Saudi, there's kind of a flywheel effect there which might just lead to them getting out.

Maybe there's a merger potential with the likes of Endeavor / TKO like WWE did?

 

They already have "merged" in the sense they both work under turkey al el al SHAKERs blood money holding company.

 

We are more likely to see new brand name Riyadh Bloodsports buy out both Eddie and Frank with both brands disappearing into Boxing Heaven along with Frank Maloney, Hayemaker and Hatton promotions.

 

I see the same happening. They will retain a 10-20% stake for sentimental reasons and be given certain roles. Well done to the lads. The Hearns are the best father/son duo in sports. Well yeah this is pretty much it. There’s not really any need for them to merge while they’re happily working together under the Saudi banner and everyone’s got the blood money rolling in. And if that ever goes belly up, you’d presume they’d just go back to operating their separate ways.
