    Oh dear...

"Due to an administrative error, an earlier draft version of the updated rankings for March 2023 were briefly published on the WBA website last night. The mistake has now been rectified with the publication of the fully updated March rankings."

Don't worry, Wilder is still #1.

Was holding off posting this news to General as I thought you'd want your moment. ;)

Though I would be well pissed if I was Bakole. Wilder v Usyk is a fight I hope gets made.

Nope. If that was the case, Hrgovic's team could just pay Dubois to step aside.

The WBA heavyweight champ hasn't made a mandatory defense in five years. They want a big payday. The WBA can just name Wilder their new mandatory after Dubois accepts his check.

That's why Wilder moved up from #3 to #1.

The WBA can name whoever they want the mandatory if Dubois agrees to step aside.

Is there an instance of this happening before?

Yes. That's how Lennox Lewis lost his WBA belt.

Lewis was supposed to fight the WBA mandatory Akinwande, but Lewis said he wouldn't fight him because Henry had hepatitis.

So Lewis signed to fight Michael Grant, who was highly rated by the WBC, while the WBA decided to name John Ruiz the new mandatory.

The WBA said Lewis had to fight Ruiz. Lewis said no. Lewis said Akinwande was the mandatory, and he couldn't fight. The WBA said Ruiz is the mandatory now. You have to fight him.

So they went to court. A federal judge ruled in favor of the WBA about two weeks before the Lewis-Grant fight. So Lewis had to decide if he was going to drop the Grant fight and face Ruiz, or dump the WBA belt and fight Grant.

And he dumped the WBA belt.

Strictly speaking, I don't think that's true at all. The WBA mandatory is up next, and they can make up whatever rules they want as they go along, same as with the rest of the corrupt alphabet orgs.

They didn't move Wilder from #3 to #1 for no reason. ;)

I'm fired-up. If we indeed get Usyk-Wilder and Fury-AJ, that's about as good a consolation prize we as fans can hope for.

And even if Fury-AJ doesn't happen, Usyk-Wilder is a fascinating clash of styles on its own. I hope it comes together, the sooner the better.

Two years ago it was “Joshua only needs one Shot!!! And Usyk is done!!”

4 years ago it was “Usyk is too small!! He can’t deal with the HW’s!!!” Lol! When has Usyk ever been put down with one shot???

Lol :D Wilders chin isn’t strong at all. And Usyk’s left hand will find the mark and quickly. Usyk boxes Wilders ****ing brains out and stops him within 6. I CAN’T WAIT to watch Usyk get rid of him once and for all.

That seems real scummy to deny a fighter who is in a mandatory position the opportunity to fight for as title because of something out of their control and then just pass it onto somebody in line behind you.

Honestly i want to see Wilder vs AJ, Usyk vs Fury was never that exciting. Puncher vs puncher is where it is at. Unfortunately both AJ and Wilder lost their titles so its over.

How did wilder duck AJ when AJ got offered 50mil and said no, and everybody around AJ from his promotion to his trainees all say they don’t want AJ to fight Wilder?
