Nor do I, but it wouldn't be hard to do.
Botha gets 50k for a win and 100k for a loss.
Nothing says he has to take the loss, but...
Don't have to, he just needs to read the contract.
    Because it's in the contract.
He doesn't know, but most people like money, so it's somewhat of a given.
    Maybe, maybe not.
Personally I don't think it is, but who knows.

You think the contract for the fight actually stipulates that he gets paid more if he loses?

I'm fairly certain that doing this would not make match fixing legal.

Bothas last fight was against Pianeta who was 26-0.
Pianeta has since fought Dominguez who was 14-1 and stopped him in the first round.
No fighter this millennium has stopped Botha in less than 8 rounds and he looked good at weigh in.
The reason I think something stinks is solely because of the prices that the bookies have put up.
Botha is a master of that turtle defence he uses and if this fight goes beyond 4 rounds Botha must win.
Still the smell won't go away.

I understand that his rugby career won't last forever but how much money will he really make if he's just going to chip away at 40+ year olds?
I agree that he should probably stay away from Wlad but why box at all if his goal isn't to challenge for a title in the next 2-3 years?

    No idea, you're probably right.
I just threw it out there.
    I think he'll do ok $$ wise.
Perhaps he just likes fighting, not everyone is world champ material, it's a pity more fighters don't recognise this.

I feel Botha's only chance is to get Williams early

If it gets past 3 rounds Botha gases

    Really?

A shot 44 year old is going to outlast a natural athlete in his prime?

Botha has notorious stamina issues, I find it hard to believe he has improved on that at 44

If anything Williams is an amazing athlete! If he can stay away from Botha early I think he stands a chance

If you read an earlier post you would have seen that no fight of Bothas' has gone less than 8 rounds and he has been in with some bangers.
If this fight goes beyond 3 rounds SBW will gas.
He needs to win it early.
A gassed Botha beats a gassed SBW handsdown.

    Doubt it

Pretty much every recent fight he's been miles behind, I feel Botha will be too tired to keep up with Sonny Bill

I think Botha stops him early anyway so its irrelevant
