Prime Bowe vs. Pre-Steward Lennox: Bowe wins close decision. Even though a pre-steward lewis should be an underdog to a "prime" Bowe (1 fight), lewis appeared to have the intimidation factor going for him.

Prime vs. Prime: Lewis TKO 6. Gives Bowe a beating.

Would have been a good fight, 2 big powerful HW with excellent inside fighting abilities.

Bowe has edge in chin and slightly in inside fighting skills, Lewis has the edge in power and range. I think Bowe would really find Lewis' jabs a nightmare.

Too bad Bowe ducked Lewi, we never get to see this fight.

I wasn't trying to prove anything.

I just pointed that what YOU claimed Fidds' post proved, was NOT proven.

    You started out with:

    Fidds responded with:

    And then YOU claimed:

Your response was off. Fidds' post did NOT prove, or even help to prove, your point.

    If I said something like:

    This content is protected

    And you came back with:

    This content is protected

    And I responded:

    This content is protected

Would you (or anybody else who could think ) consider that I'd proved anything ?

    I didn't think so.

Like I said, Fidds' post did NOT prove your point.

    I also agree with this.

Bowe should have taken the challenge at that time, he could totally win, although it seems Bowe really feared Lewis and this would play a big role on the mental part of the fight.

If your was functional, you would realize that every brain is biased when it comes to things like sport.

Some of us however can put the bias aside and see the facts as they are.

As has been said before, Bowe possibly beats pre-Steward Lennox. Post-Steward Lennox beats Bowe.

If I let my bias cloud my judgement, I would say any version of Lennox beats Bowe. But I didn't.

Pre Mcall, Bowe was the more complete fighter and SHOULD have had the tools to beat Lewis. I just feel he didn't have the belief. That is why the fight never happened imo. If a prime Bowe fought a post Mcall Lewis he'd be quite right to be intimidated by LL.

Everyone makes such a big deal about the Ruddock win. Noone takes into consideration he never accomplished anything after the two beatings he took from Mike Tyson. He was KO'd by Tommy Morrison of all fighters.
It was evident by his lack of defense, and sloppy footwork and technique, Lewis wasnt the complete fighter he became under the guidance of Emanuel Steward.
Bowe on the other hand, started his pro career under the guidance of Eddie Futch, and developed a great jab and infighting style to adapt very well to the pro game. His fight with Evander Holyfield gave him the mental confidence, that he was the best, and it was evident from his one sided blowout of a tough Mike Dokes.
At that point in time I would go with Bowe, although it would have been an exciting fight, because Bowe would have made it exciting and Lewis was always tough.

I used the Dokes fight as an example of how Bowe was very confident after winning the title. Dokes fought tooth and nail to a narrow loss to Holyfield previously, and Bowe destroyed him.
Another good comparision would be how Bowe destroyed Dokes, and Lewis struggled to a controversial win against Ray Mercer, who was about as good as Dokes, his first fight with Steward. And yes, both Ruddock and Morrison were garbage, especially when Lewis fought Ruddock, and Ruddock fought Morrison. :hi:

Yeah, he looked really confident when he dumped the title in the trashcan to avoid the man he had signed to fight already, to go on to make a bigger fight..... with Jesse "Tyson broke my nose" Fergusson.

    All we know is:

    1. Lewis stopped Bowe in the amateurs

    2. Bowe dropped his title belt to avoid having to fight Lewis.

Apparantly, Bowe wasn't confident in fighting Lewis, and given the circumstances (Lewis had stopped Bowe before and looked fantastic against Ruddock), i'm not surprised.

Bowe was a fat ***, Dokes was a cocaine crippled dinosour, who would struggle to beat anyone at that time, and remember he was washed up because he got KO by Rudduck 3 years before, so the Ruddock win is far more impressive eh!!

Bowe wins in 93. Even if he was scared blah blah. He didn't look too scared in the ringsixe confrontation. Bowe just liked his cookies more than training.

    Chicken Bowe

Instead of fighting lewis he fought dokes who already had losses to (holy, ruddock and coetzee) and then he fought jesse fergueson.
