Boxers who dropped their hands to give their opponent a free shot(s)

    Of course Ricardo Mayorga springs to mind, he is known for doing this, even against a terrible puncher like Tito Trinidad - it has become Ricardos trademark.

    Winky Wright has done the same thing against Shane Mosley in their rematch.

    Dwight Qawi did it against Leon Spinks if I remember correctly.

    Who else has done it and came away with it?

    And is it a stupid thing to do? Of course it's very risky letting a pro boxer hit you, but at the same time, if you can pull it of, it must be very demoralizing to your opponent to see that he can't drop you even with his best shot. Plus it's highly exciting.

    Here's a case where it backfired: Nate Campbell getting knocked out by Robbie Peden

    i dont get why pros forget the basics yeah i know they have differing styles
    but look at berto vs ortiz ortiz kept his hands up, alright defence whereas berto got hit with shots he shoouldnt have

    No, that's not what I meant. RJJ dropped his hands a lot but then he ducked and dodged the punches. He didn't let his opponents hit him. Calzaghe too.
