Looking for more boxers vs non boxers but eh why not? These are some others between boxers I can think of: Ike Ibeabuchi attacked Ezra Sellers after sparring. Jeremy Williams threw Lennox Lewis to the ground twice during sparring. Daniel Ponce De Leon bit Edwin Valero's ear in a hotel fight.
Ed Reed and Bryant Mckinnie have both claimed on several occasions this happened while I believe Shannon Briggs has never spoken about it. This content is protected
Bernie Reynolds lost to Robert Mitchum, if no one has said it yet. Never heard about Layne. Are you thinking of Reynolds?
I seem to recall, in the early 2010s, when Brandon Rios was hot **** on HBO, there was a video on Youtube of him at a party somewhere in California where they were blaring Mexican music and Rios got knocked out by some partygoer. Everyone was passing it around back then. It doesn't seem to be on there anymore.
Tommy Hearns and Gerald McClellan went at it in the gym(out of the ring with no gloves) if that counts. That was when Manny Steward said he knew McClellan had an iron chin, when he seen Hearns land his best right hand and McClellan didn’t blink
From I remember of this "story" is that it was around the time Hatton was struggling with drink and depression and had of course ballooned up in weight. Some big bodybuilder type got the hump with him and obviously fancied making a name for himself hitting a steaming drunk Ricky Hatton.
To be fair we have no idea how it went, for all we know Hatton started it as there were reports a few years ago that Hatton and his friends beatdown some people in Spain pretty badly.
I don't recall that one but it makes it a bit more interesting that Mike Alvarado was his most well-known dance partner. Alvarado is essentially Colorado's Johnny Tapia. He was a big partier who loved cocaine. I can't recall what fight it was now, but Alvarado had a scar on his face from a bar fight he had been. Someone hit him in the face with a bottle up in Thorton, I believe.
