It's not all technique tbf, there is something to be said about genetics and physiology, BUT the explanations people have for things are ridiculous.

"Joe Joyce's skeletal structure is 6x as dense as an an average human being".

"Deontay Wilder punches hard because he got surgery that reinforced his hands with metal". I'm not joking about this one btw there's a thread on this website with this title somewhere lol. Said his surgery gave him an unfair advantage.

You mean like top 1970s HWs would defeat top 2000s era HWs? When you come up w/some good ideas, fill me in

Maybe a large percentage of martial arts fans are strange, have weak analytical skills, and challenged with illogical biases.

Maybe. But I don't think that type of fighter is any more numerous than the following.
Many huge punchers had mediocre to weak chins (or more generally stated, fair to weak punch resistance).

Just among old time HWs Shavers is a good example. In the more recent era Wlad K. In the current era AJ.
In their respective eras they were huge punchers, but with so-so punch resistance.

Yeah, I accept the genetic/physiological component. It definitely plays a part. My beef is with the attitude boxing fans have that some people are just born with power that can't be explained. Anything can be explained if you analyse it closely enough.

I'm aware that bro science generally enters the picture at this point since there's so little real research done in this sport and fans can often let their imaginations get the better of them. But that's still better in my opinion that no making the attempt at all, and just accepting some things are forever going to be a mystery.

You're born with it. It's not even genetic, as you'll have 2 muscular brothers who train the same but 1 hits like a horse and the other has feather dusters.

It's probably to do with how your body can create torque.
