Ah dang. Not surprising they barely even mentioned the fact that FNF was going to air. Only promotion I heard was from BK saying "don't miss FNF tonight..." etc. etc.

Just a reminder, on FX Lights Out will be coming on in a few hours. It's a boxing drama show, Ima check it out because it's a boxing show, I'm sure the fighting will be silly, and there will be cliches that make boxing fans cringe a bit, but hopefully it'll be good.

From what I have read (only a few sources from a google search) it has received favorable reviews.

    It's set to DVR. :good

I may or may not be watching it live.

My girlfriend has waffled on it...when the first commercials came on several months ago she seemed really interested and now she says it looks dumb. :conf Worst case scenario, I check it out after she turns in.

boxing needs to build itself around local stars in big markets like it's done in Montreal. I mean boxing is constantly in the news here.

The venues there do always seem to be sold out or close to it.

That's one of the things I love about Adamek. He's built himself a nice following in Newark. At the biggest local shows here in Chicago there's a few names that draw a crowd (most famously David Diaz who's coming back to these shows now) but unfortunately they don't draw like Montreal.

Surprise, surprise, Manfredo Jr.'s KD of Edouard received a "top play" on Sportscenter...it was number 5.

There's a big Polish community in Chicago. I'm pretty sure Adamek could draw good numbers, there.

ESPN is fine . . . but the real mainstream media like FOX, BBC, CBS and CNBC doesn't have much weight . . . they are all ignorant in the sports.

Boxing getting back on a network like FOX or CBS would be a massively encouraging sign.

Why promoters aren't bending over backwards and pulling out all the stops trying to woo them is beyond me.

Bump bump. As everybody knows by now. Pacquiao-Mosley has a CBS/Showtime deal. A great deal for boxing as a whole as there will be a Countdown show on CBS and if the show gets big ratings we can expect more coverage for on boxing in the future. Gotta give props to Arum and Top Rank for making this happen (and also thank you to HBO for pissing Arum off :yep ) So, big step for boxing as a whole.
