boxing always shoots itself in the foot but this year has being a terrible year for it.the main reason was boxing adapting to the changing economic climate fighters, managers, promoters where slow to learn that boxing economic's has changed this year.also the whole floyd/pac debacle meant this year was always going to be a letdown.the 4th quarter looks better hopefully the trend contuines next year

The end of the year is looking good and the little guys are willing to fight each other. Showtime bantamweight tournament is great IMO. This year was the confirmation of Mares talent who gave a very good fight with Perez, same goes with Segura, Martinez, Khan, Pascal, Pirog, Cleverly, Burns, Murray and many others. Ortiz is back on track as well. Morales come-back was entertaining whether u like him to keep on fighting or not. I don't give a **** about HW to be honest so I'm fine with it.
Boxing doesn't need 1 big fight at a time. It needs talented, dedicated fighters willing to prove themselves (this we have) and promoters who can build them up locally in order to create a real fanbase.

Far too much money in boxing for those who possess far too little talent.

Correct but i think Boxing needs Haye/Wlad and Mayweather/Pacquiao to happen in 2011.

Not at all. These last few years have been great. This year, if you only watch HBO, then may'be it has been a shitty year, but if you do your best to follow the sport and go to other outlets then it hasn't been too bad of a year. Showtime will learn from this and hopefully if they do it again it will be better. It was a great concept and we got some extra content (IE: Fight Camp 360's) no shame in Showtime doing something different. It just didn't pan out. As fans we'll move on, and boxing will move on. Of course, this won't be the end of boxing. That's just foolish talk, we have fights to look forward to and hopefully, we'll end up seeing those fights.
