    On Pacquiao vs. Malignaggi...

The doping issue was one Kostello felt passionately about. It was his life's work, before boxing broke his heart and trampled his dreams.

Kostello decided to create a thread called "James Kirkland could be fighting in 10 months..." - in case any of us were wondering.

He also created one called "Ricky Hatton Drinking Hard..." - again, in case we were wondering.

An earlier reflection on James Kirkland shows the softer side of Kostello.

In answer to "Will Edison Miranda be the next Ricardo Mayorga??"

Kostello is an OG, posting as far back as 2007:

    In "Calzaghe keen on Kessler":

    And that's it, folks.

That is every single post in Kostello's distinguished career as a boxing fan.

We will never see another like him.

Except for the dime a dozen dollar a day's worth that pass through here all the time.

Au revoir, Kostello! Thanks for the memories! Give our love to MMA![/QUOTE]

damn, talk about getting owned. :thumbsup

honestly he has a point.. right now we have the klits, mayweather, pacquiao and maybe cotto as boxers that are known by the casual fan and not just by boxing fans.. everybody else can walk around NYC or any other city and wont be recognize by anybody.. i remember a few years back we had DLH, tito, vargas, tyson, lewis, chavez, holyfield, tua, roy jones, calazague, mosley, hamed, barrera, morales and a bunch more that were legitimate stars of boxing .. right now we have a bunch of young champions trying to prove themselves, or old fighters still hanging around and a bunch of prospects

    :hat

no biggy. he's just a casual fan.
Where the real boxing core and fun is, is following the prospects up to contender, who may turn into champions.
A person who just looks to watch the top elites fight on PPV is just a casual watcher, a skimmer

Gamboa and Lopez fight alot (especially gamboa). The S6 guys are all doing thier thing but mainly noticed by hardcore fans in the US while seeming more mainstream in Europe.
Besides the above guys, These guys should keep boxing fun to watch after pac and floyd retire.

    berto
    Alexander
    Bradley
    Khan
    Donaire
    Dawson
    Cloud
    Angulo
    Kirkland (in do time)
    Callabrerro
David Haye (waiting for Klits to ritire)
    Tomaz Adamek
and more will keep boxing going just fine when the too biggest stars along with other on top fighters leave the sport. There are plenty of prospects coming out all over the place. Boxing will not die in my life time.
