Solution is for fans to keep rejecting the unworthy pay per views which they already have been. The pay-per-view numbers have been so dire. Meanwhile of course the promoters will lie and over inflate the numbers. That is what Rick Glaser is for to tell us the truth about the real numbers.
It is in a terrible slump, that's for sure. I think the worldwide economic uncertainty also is contributing. Big money is being more hesitant to commit, which is causing further delays. The biggest problem is lack of activity. And it spirals because out of sight, out of mind. There have been some good clarifying matchups over the past 12-15 months with multiple unification bouts, but guys fighting once per year is not going to work.
Better! His parents didn't put one of those spinning things with cute elephants and giraffes, that play a little lullaby, above his crib. No, they put up a speed bag and blast the four Horsemen from Matalica. His first words were " let's get it on". But that may be because his parents are big Marvin Gay fans. Not 100% on that one.
It’s been pretty down for years, but like everything else, it’ll come back up. The flaws in the sport are obvious and I think the the business side of it will be forced to fix things soon.
It won't sell in the U.S., and without that market the fight's numbers will be limited. (Not that I care, personally.)
Where are? Ask Fury: Price Haye A Trilogy with McDermott or Cunningham A fifth fight with Wilder These are the fights
Yep I believe this is the main reason we're seeing less activity/quality fights/fighters, and can one really blame them? I'm always complaining about how boxing has changed, with less active careers and less quality fights etc - BUT would all those great old timers have fought so much, if the $$$ panned out the same as today? I think you'd be seeing a lot of ATG records with much less activity.
Think more kids are interested in MMA now my son goes to bjj and around my area was hard to find a place with spaces for him plus mams don't want there kids taking punches to the head anymore lol
Agree with pretty much everything posted on here. I am a bit more positive things will get better and we are just in a bad slump. Until it does, I will just watch old fights and watch a few scraps down my local pub.
People have been saying this for well over a century. Boxing ebs and flows and yes, it is currently in a slump from a terrific high from 2013-2019. However when backs are against the wall promoter's lower their ego's & big fights start getting made.
