Love it - but then I’m a big fan of Sonny. I liked the side by side clip comparison to illustrate Foreman’s modelling of himself on Liston’s persona. It didn’t go long but really, Liston showed so much in that Bethea fight, insane power, very good speed and excellent accuracy. I always cringe when reference is made to Bethea losing his teeth. That’s scary. Sonny was scary. Lol.

When the great fighters (Ali,Foreman, Tyson, Patterson) A good fighter known and admired for his toughness (Wepner) two of the greatest trainers in the history of the sport ( Steward , Dundee) are all saying basically the same thing about Liston. It's something to seriously consider. And prime vs prime against most heavyweights in history, Liston would be favored. Especially of the last 10-15 yrs. He'd destroy Wilder, punk than destroy Joshua lol.
I think eventually Sonny’s all round boxing skill has been recognised. Of course he was a huge puncher but he had a great all round game. Possibly the best jab in heavyweight history, a great left hook and right cross and could put the punches together superbly in combinations, if he had you in trouble with one punch you could be sure another power punch was on it’s way a great finisher all allied to a rock solid chin. Just a marvellous fighter.
