boxing is learned by doing it...not watching or reading it...if u all want a lesson though watch malignaggi tonight
nope. i have my trainer and i watch boxing. no need to waste time reading books.. i learn techniques by 'doing' it
guys, guys, I of course box a lot in the gym (5 days a week) and I watch boxing as much as it is on But I also like reading, so was just wondering if anyone knew about these books. I think a lot can be learnt from reading in regards to advising new things to work on in the gym.
lol, been to a gym, been training a good few years now, go to the gym 5 times a week... But I like to read and books about boxing are therefore an obvious choice.
Check YouTube for Kenny Weldon's Galana Park boxing instruction videos. BY FAR the best I've ever seen.
Learn boxing by doing not by books. Go to a gym and practice boxing or watch boxing videos and practice it with somebody.
I got Joe Fraziers book, and I think it ok. The boxers workout is ok as well but its more based on the workout that the boxing itself. Lol don't you love asking a specific question just to get everyone sticking thier opinions in without even acknowledging the question? "how should i lean back from punches?" I know this thread is old but I have to write something because it seems people got me wrong here.. what I meant was off course that I think you can learn more from watching fights than reading books WHEN YOU'RE NOT TRAINING which I took for granted APLIN does!
Own the first book, it is by far the most useful book on boxing technique/training I have read. It's not complete by any means, but reading it along with listening to coaches and training you will likely pickup plenty of useful information.
