Guys I need your help please.

Im 24 now and I've always wanted to get into boxing, but never could because of financial issues and time.

Long story short... I need some suggestions of where I can get training in Pretoria. Im on a really tight budget and can't afford the rates big boxing gyms charge.

I would appreciate any and all advice on how I can go about getting into boxing.

    Thank you
    Sebastiaan

I don’t know much about South African gyms but surely there must be some decent gyms that do group classes for under £10 a session.

I’m in London and before Covid I was paying £6 per session for training with a very small group of people.

1-2-1 training is where it gets expensive but for group classes it really shouldn’t be. At the end of the day look at all of the poor working class fighters who fought their way to the top. The majority of boxers I would imagine came from humble beginnings. It’s not a rich man’s sport, it’s pretty accessible for pretty much anyone who makes a living.

Mate if you can’t afford to get a gym membership or buy basic equipment I’d worry about getting a better job first. If your situation is really that bad Boxing can wait. In the mean time you could just train at home. Shadow boxing doesn’t require equipment. If you can’t afford a skipping rope you can just use any long string type thing you can find. Mainly focus on push ups and sit ups as you can do those anywhere. Go online for advice on how to improve your style. There are plenty of YouTubers who give lessons for free.
